Big Bear Get Away
Thank you ! We had a lovely time ! Location is perfect, close to restaurants, slopes and The Village . The condo was fully equipped with everything we needed ! Highly recommend unit 6.
Great location in Big Bear
Best price for 2 bed, 2 bath, with kitchen in area. Nice amenities - garage!, gas fireplace, and TV system. All within short drive to everything Big Bear had to offer. It was great to be able to park in garage overnight.
Checked out hours after arrival
We have rented through VRBO a handful of times and have never had an issue however, this was a terrible experience and we felt a review was needed. To start off, we booked within a week of arrival for the week after Christmas so options were very limited. Check in times was at 4pm and we were instructed to check in at the property manager's office (VACASA) to get the access code for the lockbox. We arrived a few minutes after 4 to a closed office with a group of people lining up. There was a post note with a phone number to call if you were checking in. A few of us didn't have cell service but the ones who had service called the number and were told someone would be there within 5-10 minutes. More and more people arrived to check in and we all stood outside in the cold for close to 45 minutes (with my family sitting in the car) until 2 ladies arrived. There was no greeting or explanation. We finally got the access code and headed to the "home." We arrived and this was not a home. It was a condo/apartment located at the back of the parking lot you see in the photos. The remarks say the restaurant is around the corner. That is not the case. The parking lot is the front yard. We were not given parking instructions so we parked in front of a garage door right next to our stairway. Upon entering the unit there was an instant smell of air freshener but it was overwhelming. Hoping it would go away if we left the door open we did so while unloading our car. Very quickly we were soon yelled at by a neighbor that we were in her driveway. The garage door actually opened up to an entire parking level for the complex. We were not given a spot in this area. The remarks state wifi was provided. I called the management company and asked where we were supposed to park and what the wifi password was. We were told to park in the restaurant parking lot which was completely full by this time. Then they suggested a spot on the other side of our staircase which hadn't been plowed and had too much snow to park on. They called me back later to tell me wifi hadn't been set up yet. My husband needed wifi to conduct business so this was another issue.
The bed and bedding were very poor quality and there was a huge back widow on the wall in the master. There was also a huge crack over the entry door and a chunk of the counter missing in front of the sink in the kitchen. We decided not to unpack and instead loaded the car back up and went home.
