Awesome view and comfy beds. Washer, dryer, dishwasher and nice tub. Everything you need.
It is always nice to have appreciate guests! Ring of Fire is a hidden jewel! The extra touches will take you by surprise, the memory of our view will stay with you long after you've gone home!
We have been privileged to vacation in the Ring of Fire residence for the last five years each July. We have also entertained family and friends at the house. It is a large open design with a kitchen / dining area where many people can work and gather and enjoy. The living room has a beautiful view across the Cook Inlet and on a sunny day - five volcanoes can be seen. The most coveted seat in the casa is a chaise lounge that looks out at Mount Iliamna! We enjoyed morning coffee watching the sun clear off the fog and shine on the snow on the volcanoe seventy miles away..
I also loved the laundry facilities - with fishing and walking beaches and hiking and multiple layers sometimes needed - the washer and double dryers was extremely helpful.
Some of our best memories include grilling steaks on the deck and paring it with crab (buy at the summer market on Wednesday and Saturdays!), watching the Sandhill cranes land in the back yard, spying moose moving through the pushki (cow parsnip to the lower 48), enjoying the vibrant fireweed, the privacy and the vast view. It is convenient to both the ocean /spit / wharf in Homer and the river at Anchor Point.
My family and I recently stayed at this property - it was a great home away from home! It's about a 10-minute drive north of Homer, but the level of privacy we had made it well worth it! There was a large yard for the kids to play in, and huge windows for us to soak in the views. Kachemak Bay is visible from the kitchen and the living room/deck area - seeing all of the volcanoes beyond the water was really something. The photos don't do it justice - the kitchen/dining area is huge, and was perfect for our group of 8! I would highly recommend considering Island Watch for your Homer trip - Connie was very friendly and pleasant to work with. We will be visiting again next year!
