Lovely little cottage, area beautiful, peacocks walking about, cozy, lovely romantic place, until you go to bed, mattress is too soft, look at ceiling and there's cobwebs everywhere and every room (need to invest in a extendable feather duster and a cleaner who can look upwards) apart from that it's a smashing lovely little cottage.
One last thing the welcome hamper, lovely touch 👍 👍 👌😊
Button Cottage is a lovely Bijou Cottage.
Button Cottage is a lovely Bijou Cottage. Great for a weekend but any longer and it would not work due to storage space. The cottage had everything including an iron and worktop ironing board. Equipment put back into cupboards needs checking before the next guests arrive as some items not clean (even though there is a lovely dishwasher).
The welcome pack was lovely and washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets, also tea, coffee, sugar and milk a nice touch. The private garden was a delight.
Walks in the surrounding area were lovely.
We would return.
Great local scored low on local amenities but that’s what we wanted.
Great local scored low on local amenities but that’s what we wanted. As put in the sticks. Very secluded a great get away. Alnwick is a 10 min taxi ride away. Everything was thought of by the owners a cute little cottage with everything you need inside. Will be back again.
Ideal location to get around all of the landmarks - 20 minutes from the stunning Holy Island.
Ideal location to get around all of the landmarks - 20 minutes from the stunning Holy Island. Very clean and cosy - a home from home!
Well-appointed cottage set in a very pretty location.
Well-appointed cottage set in a very pretty location. The roaming peacocks and grouse were particularly lovely. Unfortunately the cottage was let down slightly by poor cleanliness (a lot of cobwebs and a smell of urine in the bathroom) and some of the equipment/furniture not in full working order (tin opener broken and fridge setting not right meaning our bottle of welcome milk turned sour before we were able to use it). We also asked for a travel cot and high chair for our baby, and fortunately we didn’t need to use the high chair as rather disappointingly it was absolutely filthy and clearly had not been cleaned for some time (if ever!) The cottage is very cosy, only three rooms in total; kitchen and lounge area, bedroom and bathroom. This is fine for a couple but we found it a bit of a squeeze with our baby, especially as access to the bathroom is through the bedroom so once we had put our little one to bed we had to be careful when walking through from the lounge and using the bathroom facilities in case of waking him. You can clearly see why this cottage has had so many good reviews, it has real character and has been sympathetically decorated with the wood burner etc. If the minor issues were rectified we would certainly return.
Nice environment and quiet: gineafowl and peacocks wandering the lawn.
Nice environment and quiet: gineafowl and peacocks wandering the lawn. Anwick nearby, lots to do. Cottage was very small and not ideal: can’t open windows and very low sofa. Nowhere to store food in kitchen except small fridge. Several minor inconveniences which niggled. V soft and comfy bed! A good bath & shower.
Lovely private garden with chairs, table etc.
Suggest for short visit “love nest” with limited catering it would be super.
