Cabin was great and as advertised. Unfortunately it snowed the entire time we were there so we were unable to walk and enjoy the property and the creek, etc; however, the views were beautiful.

My wife and I are always looking for beautiful destinations and accommodations that allow us to relax and get off grid. The cabin proximity to Durango was perfect for us to get away from town and relax, but still close enough to Durango for dinning and entertainment. We truly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this very well appointed cabin to anyone looking for a nice relaxing time in the mountains.

Our Family of 4 loved it
The property was exactly what we were looking for. Our 10 yr old daughter and 13 yr old son had a great time exploring the property and we had nice evening walks after big days at Purgatory and Silverton. Great property manual on site with all you need to know about area. I did have one question when we were there, I texted owner and received a prompt response. Cabin is in great working order. the one suggestion we have is set up Hummingbird feeder as soon as you arrive. That is your daily entertainment. No TV needed in evenings, just sit in hot tub with bev of choice sit back and enjoy the show. We will be back. Nice to be so close to Purgatory and go grab lunch, rain coat , rest for a bit etc. less than 10 from house.
First issue was a raging forest fire four miles from the cabin, making it too smoky to enjoy the outdoors. Second issue was the home having sharp edges. In the master bedroom there's only about 8 inches of clearance between the footboard of the bed which is very pointed and the dresser. My husband and I hit our knees on it numerous times while we were there in spite of trying to put a pillow over the end of the bed. The platform were the wood burning stove sits on is also very sharp and protrudes too far into the living room so that there's very little room to walk around. Finally, the walkway down to the river was blocked by a tree that had fallen down that needs to be cleared. This made it very dangerous to try and walk down to the water from the cabin. We ended up leaving several days early because we were so uncomfortable there. Very disappointing after paying so much and getting very little in the way of comfort. A warning about the forest fire would have been appreciated as well.
The cabin and grounds are beautiful
We loved the sound of the creek and the wind in the trees. We especially enjoyed the hot tub!
