Perfect location and very pleasant house
We had a wonderful week at Jane's house, thanks to its amazing pool, beautiful surroundings. This rental had all the necessary amenities (particularly the brand new kitchen) and Jane was a perfect host. Many thanks again :)
Nous avons passé une semaine parfaite dans la maison de Jane (laquelle nous a donné toutes les informations souhaitées), très bien équipée, piscine extra et propriété très belle et au calme. Nous y reviendrons sans hésitation!
An elegant house in a tiny rural hamlet surrounded by open views across meadow and forest. An enjoyable stay in this lovely property and as the temperature was around 30 the pool was the main focus with meals eaten outside under the shade. Highly recommended.
Dawdling in the Dordogne
Set in a peaceful hamlet this beautiful home did not disappoint. Extremely well equipped including beautiful bed line, all needs were catered for. Lazy days spent by the pool or walking in the countryside (collecting cool drinking water from the natural spring) made this a wonderfully relaxing time. There are plenty of markets in the area to tempt the taste buds and fashion sense. A car is a necessity in this beautiful rural setting. For the more adventurous there is always a canoe trip on the Dordogne to look forward to and plenty of medieval villages to explore. Current tourist literature was available which was helpful to decide days out or restaurants. A great place, highly recommended.
Lovely house, stunning position
The house is absolutely lovely, v. relaxing and just what you need for a good holiday. The bedrooms are all good, as are the kitchen and eating areas, especially the outside table and porch. The pool is lovely and was used by us all week. Overall, we had an absolutely lovely time and would really love to come back at some point.
Rural France at its best
In the peace and solitude of a tiny hamlet, hardly even that, this elegant family house stands on the brow of a gentle slope overlooking trees and country-side and the local church. With substantial and well kept gardens extending into forest one feels as though one is lord of the manoir, at least for a week. Not forgetting the pool which was very welcome in the lovely weather we had in June.
The house has well proportioned rooms and is ideal for entertaining either indoors or out, be it family meals or a group of friends as we were. Well furnished bedrooms, sympathetic to the nature of the house and a well equipped kitchen.
There are lots of lovely towns and villages, not to mention chateau within easy reach, so one is spoiled for choice for activities. Also some very good restaurants, although we enjoyed shopping at local markets and cooking 'at home' most of the time. highly recommended.
Home from home and blissful contentment in Cussac
We bade a reluctant farewel to this beautiful property over a week ago now and yet still find it hard not to imagine waking up to be greeted by the stunning views at Cussac. The house itself was so beautifully appointed and provided everything we needed. Its rustic but elegant charm only enhanced the esquisite setting of this tiny but welcoming Hamlet. The facilities available made this a real home from home as well as extras such as table tennis, pool etc. A cupbaord full of games and interesting reads, painting and simply kicking back by the pool listening to some great music was a wonderful way to while away the hours. Several visits to the lovely Cadouin, (less than 10 minutes away by car) its restaurants, medievil Abbey and local shops were delightful. We drove down through France to reach this property which was quite a tiring and lengthy journey but worth every mile. We had our two older teenage children with us who we thought may become a little bored with the tranquility and purpose of this holiday but they enjoyed every moment and were as content as myself and my husband to make the most of the setting. Jane was so helpful in the smooth booking process and the contact in France couldn't have been more welcoming and approachable. A secret destination that will no doubt charm you too. Highly recommended and determined to return. Thank you again Jane x
