Charming cottage, gracious hosts, marvelous walks.
A perfect location for visiting Great Dixter, Sissinghurst, Rye and Bodiam Castle. Walk out the front gate and take a left (or right)for wonderful country walks. This is a charming cottage with a well thought out kitchen. I most enjoyed the activity in the sable yard. I hope to return.
We would love to have you back.
Wonderful country retreat
We stayed for a week in the cottage and enjoyed it very much. We especially enjoyed being in the country, on a farm, along a major bridle path with beautiful walks in every direction. It's in the country yet still easy to get to via car on the very fast A2100. You know you're in a special place when you walk out the door and are greeted by inquisitive horses and goats.
Lovely cottage just a short drive outside the centre of Battle. Well equiped and lovely hosts. We really loved the animals around the cottage. Perfect place for several occasions, like walking, shopping or sight seeing!
A Very Pleasant Weekend
A fantastic weekend retreat and an ideal location from which to explore Battle and Hastings.
Wonderful views towards Whatlington and the surrounding countryside.
The ground floor consists of a well proportioned room that serves as kitchen, diner and lounge. There is also a good sized shower room.
A very nice wooden staircase takes you up to a large bedroom and en suite shower room inluding both a loo and a bidet. Windows face to the north, east and south.
Outside is ample parking, a stables with several very friendly horses together with Orlando & Viggo (the two rather handsome goats!).
We booked this cottage as my partner and I were attending a wedding nearby. As always we took our two dogs but were a little worried as they were to be left unattended in their crates for a few hours. Our concerns were ill founded, however, as our fantastic hosts, Virginia and Ted, were kind enought to take our dogs for a walk (twice) whilst we were away.
We extend our thanks to Virginia & Ted for a wonderful couple of days - both the accomodation and the owners proved to be an exceptional find.
sweet little cottage in a rural setting
We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage. It was lovely to have the goats and cats outside the front door, and to hear owls at night.
The cottage was quiet, clean and well equipped. The kitchen is vast and we used it as a sitting room as well.
Virginia and Ted were very helpful, and ready to answer all our questions.
Very homely and welcoming owners made us feel comfortable particularly regarding the 🚸
