Peaceful and Relaxing!
This was probably the cleanest cabin I have ever stayed in. Great location and very comfortable. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to stay in the Robbinsville / Fontana area.
The cabin is both roomy and cozy. If you live/work in a busy noisy environment and would like a truly peaceful place to read, listen to music, relax....you found it. The Quiet is breathtaking, until night, when the crickets and frogs lull you into sleep. And the people who work in the shops, restaurants, museums, etc are so welcoming. We went on a GSMR tour which was a blast and visited the Toy Museum in Franklin, NC (another beautiful drive). Best steak was at 1101 Main and best french fries were at Tapoco Lodge. Mountains and lakes at every turn. Magic. Must be triply gorgeous when the Fall colors are abundant. oh yes.......the Dragon......hold on tight, eyes on the road and enjoy. Thanks to Susan and Tom for sharing their home.
We loved staying here. It was close to several different places that we explored during the day. It was in deep woods, but not a terrible drive to get to. Driveway was steep, but we had no problems navigating. Check in was super easy. (We were concerned when we thought we would arrive at midnight!) We had everything we needed To enjoy a nice cookout on the grill one night. One of the reasons we chose this location was for the hot tub. We were not disappointed!! (Except for one evening of lightening that kept us out of it...) We would highly recommend this cabin, and would definitely choose it again!!
We had a wonderful 5 nights here, but it is very much in the woods. Normally we would like to walk around/hike the area, but it was really to thick. This being spring, you can't see the sky or stars through the trees except for a small area in front of the cabin. The cabin itself is very clean and cozy and comfortable and had everything we needed. The TV could have been bigger as it was so small we had to move to sit in front of it. Its away from it all as it is a good half hour or more drive to anything, restaurants, grocery, etc., and most are closed early Sunday and all day Monday and Tuesday. This may change with seasons, not sure. We went zip lining and that was lots of fun, also drove to the dam and the dragon and over in to Tennessee. The hot tub and porch are awesome as it was cool in the morning and evenings and the hot water and jets felt great. The porch is not covered and the trees are thick so bugs and tree stuff are constantly falling on you or into your cup. I would clear a few trees and possibly cover the deck. We saw a couple humming birds which was cool but there is no feeder... overall a great experience and if seclusion is what you're looking for and don't mind being that out of the way, then this place would be awesome for you.
A week of quietness
My wife and I stayed a week and we fell in love with the Hydeaway waking up before sunrise and just listening to the birds and the trees
Very nice place!!!! And my Mini had no issues with the driveway ;)
