Stunning country retreat
We have just had the most lovely week at this beautiful villa. It has everything a family could need for the perfect away-from-it all break. Plenty of room to sprawl around & relax!
The house is beautifully furnished & has masses of crockery & cooking utensils. We particularly enjoyed the badminton net in the garden. Use of the local tennis courts 15 minute cycle away & the bikes to get there. The wi-fi is a bit slow & the TV signal was a bit hit or miss depending on the weather, but this didn't at all spoil our holiday. Don't have any doubts about booking - we can highly recommend!
Beautiful house, lovely location, great experience
The house is large, beautifully and tastefully done, versatile, peaceful and very relaxing. The pool is excellent too. And the owner and on-site team couldn't have been more kind and helpful in sorting out or stay and providing us with a welcome and local info while we were there. Would definitely come again.
Fantastic property for a quiet, relaxing holiday.
We have rented many houses throughout Europe over the years but this is certainly the best we've stayed in. We celebrated a significant wedding anniversary and birthday together with a large group (most of whom stayed near by at other accommodations) and it was absolutely marvelous. Everyone was very impressed with the property and those not staying there with us wished that they were.
The house exceeded our expectations relative to the information provided on the website and the photos and description didn't do it justice. The kitchen was very well appointed with all equipment and dishes needed to cook for a large group. The house and outside spaces are beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable with plenty of space inside and out.
We will definitely be going back and would happily recommend it to any of our friends or family planning a trip to this part of France. A house not to be missed!
The best - ever!
We've been visiting France for many many years and have stayed in various houses, but Le Ferret has really been the best - and the others weren't exactly hovels either!
There is so much interior space available, with TWO beautiful lounges to relax in, both with high aesthetic decor.
The kitchen is a dream to cook in and the bedrooms light and charming.
As for the exterior, the heated pool is an added bonus, and the poolside area is a wonderful place to unwind, whether or not you choose to get your feet wet...
My favourite spot was the comfy cushioned outdoor sofa amongst lavender bushes.
The lanes around the house are quiet and not at all hilly, so a gentle meander around the local countryside is a pleasure on one of the six bicycles available.
We were six adults and only at Le Ferret for a week unfortunately - next time will be longer by popular consensus.
However, we managed a trip to La Rochelle (allow two hours) as well as to the zoo at La Palmyre, Royan, in under two hours.
The rest of the week was just basking in the peace and tranquility of Le Ferret, with shopping trips to Chef Boutonne and Ruffec.
We were so sorry to leave Le Ferret, but were comforted by the fact that we can return - unless such a glowing review means that it will be permanently pre-booked!!!
Excellent holiday property
We have stayed at several properties in France and La Metairie is by far and away the best in terms of quality, location, and value. The house is in really good condition and very well equipped. It is well furnished and spacious with good en suites and bedrooms. The kitchen is very well equipped and perfect for holiday cooking as was the BBQ. The pool is a good size and the best we have ever had. Being heated is a real bonus and helped even the most fragile of our group enjoy the week in the water. The security at the venue is excellent as well. The location is good for local towns and we particularly enjoyed a trip to Cognac.
The owner was very helpful during the booking process and provided good information about our stay in advance. If you are considering this property don't hesitate - get it booked! I will certainly be looking to return in the future. Steve.
