Snowbird is FABULOUS!
This was our 2nd year staying at Snowbird and again, it did NOT disappoint! The space is so practical for our family that consisted of 8 adults and 1 baby. The home is well stocked with cooking needs and even had a high chair for my Grandson. The view is wonderful and spent a good bit of time on the porch listening to the ocean and enjoying the cool breeze after a day at the beach and a dip in the pool! We thoroughly enjoyed staying there and hope to be back next year!
Great first time experience at SGI
House was very clean and in working order. The only issue we ran into around the house was a mosquito population.
I have stayed in many homes on the Island and this one by far has been my favorite! There was ample parking, the pool was fabulous and the home was so spacious and well stocked with everything we needed! An easy walk to the beach as well! We are already planning lnext year's trip!
Beautiful island, great house
We come to St. George Ialand several times a year but have never stayed at this house before. I was a little apprehensive since the only other review was negative but decided to take a chance as the location was perfect. The house is located across the street (actually 2 streets) from the beach but it is only a short walk away. The island is so small that you can sit in the front porch and look at the ocean. The photos on the website accurately depicted the house and everything worked well. Evidently, the heating/cooling issues that the other reviewer had issues with have been resolved. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that there was mold/mildew in the large shower in the master bedroom. This was obviously an issue since there was a sign asking us to keep the shower door open (which I did and left the vent fan on). I didn’t bother to call maintenance while I was there as I didn’t want to deal with it and since it was mainly on the ceiling (strange place for it) and walls (and because the shower was huge) we just tried to avoid it. There was a significant amount present or I wouldn’t have even mentioned it. Despite that issue, the house seemed very clean and we didn’t have any other problems. The check in/check out procedure was very convenient (you are emailed a code the day before you arrive and are given a code to enter when you leave). This meant we never had to worry about a key and everyone with us could access the house at any time. The weather was beautiful while we were there despite it being December (high 50s, mostly sunny) and we were able to bike, walk on the beach and explore the island. I would stay here again.
Great view, perfect location issues with Air Conditioning and Property Mgmt
We absolutely loved the location, pool was awesome but the A/C froze up on us repeatedly. We called it in to the property mgmt on our 2nd day but nothing was done because the after hours answering service told us if we didn't leave a window or door open we wouldn't have had a/c issues. Considering that my husband and I are property managers, this did not sit well with us. So I called back and elevated our issue, at which time we were told a repair ticket was never originally submitted, so now a repair ticket was issued and we were told that 3 portable air units would be brought to the house.. they only showed up with 2 stating that they didn't have anymore. Yet when I called the main office voicing my complaint.. suddenly they had 4 units. The units helped keep our grandkids cool in their rooms but due to the patio doors in the master bedroom we were not able to cool off that room.. ugh. Finally the day before we left a new a/c unit was put in, but that didn't really help our vacay much. We spent our whole vacation trying to keep the house at a tolerable temp- constantly nursing the a/c and turning off the a/c every time it froze up. We were credited one nights stay for our troubles, but I don't think we will be back. When we were packing up we found a feedback form that was filled out from a previous guest that stated the same complaints, which made me even more angry over the a/c issues we had to endure. Housekeeping should be turning in the reviews, the property management team should have been responsive to our call the first time on the beginning of our trip.. not fixing the issue on our last day of our 7 day trip. Not sure if the owner was aware of the issues, but I always felt we were getting the run around when ever we called. Very frustrating knowing how much $ we spent to rent this house.
Hi Bobie, we are sorry for your experience on this trip. It is unlike us to have these issues, and we pride ourselves on both maintenance and responsive guest services. The 4th of July weekend put some pressure on our maintenance schedule, but that is not an excuse for our oversight on the A/C issues. As you note, the A/C has now been replaced and the home is back in tip-top shape.
