We had a VERY nice stay at Terrasol 242B!
Terrasol 242B is done in the original Terrasol style with a couple reliefs of sailfish at the head of the bed, glazed white tile on the floor and blue and white tile on the counters and in the bath.
The furnishings are in very good condition and are comfortable. There is a new dishwasher and refrigerator and an older stove top that works very well. No oven or microwave but the gas grill appears to be near new and worked flawlessly. The blender made really good margaritas and we liked the provided margarita glasses so much we went to "The Glass Factory" downtown and bought four to take home to Alaska with us. The bed is extra firm and worked great for we old folks. The owner spends time in the condo himself and it has a comfortable, "meant to be lived in" feel.
The view from the deck is outstanding. We watched whales breaching, sometimes two or three at a time, for the first few days. The condo is a ways from the water so bring binoculars for whale watching.
I caught snapper and pompano from the beach and grilled them for some GREAT meals.
There is excellent access to the marina and downtown Cabo and we took full advantage by either walking or taking the bus.
There is a main bus stop (Mulle) a short walk from the condo and we could take one of the busses marked "Soriana" from there directly to a very nice, large, grocery store (now La Comer...used to be Mega and still called that sometimes). To return to Terrasol we would take a bus marked "Mulle" from the sidewalk directly in front of La Comer. We made trips to Costco and Walmart by either walking along the marina or taking a bus marked "Centro" to the Puerto Pariso mall then catching a bus marked "Costco" from there. To return to Terrasol we rode busses from Walmart marked "Centro" back to Puerto Pariso mall then either walking the marina back to Terrasol or taking a bus marked "Mulle" back to the bus stop near Terrasol and walking the last 100+/- yards to the condo. The cost for a bus ride is $13mx (13 pesos or about $0.75 USD). Great fun and inexpensive too.
The owner was not only responsive but very pleasant and enjoyable to communicate with.
The only improvements we could think of were "sprucing up" the paint on the trim and cupboards and adding a microwave in case I didn't catch any fish and we had to reheat a Costco roast chicken ;o)))
I believe this unit is currently the best value at Terrasol or very near it and a very nice place to stay. That earns it 5 stars!
Thanks Lorne. Loved the home away from home. It was fully equipped, all you need is your food. We rented a car at the airport and hit Walmart on our way to the condo. The deck overlooked the pool and the ocean. We sat on the deck and could see the whales jumping in the water. Great place to watch the sunset and enjoy the sun.
Great view from room!
Had a good time, everything was fine for me!
Thank you for booking the unit. Glad you had a great stay.
Happy new year
The Perfect Getaway in Cabo!
This was our first time in Cabo and we couldn't have been happier with our stay at Terrasol. First and foremost, Lorne is an exceptional host. He promptly responds to any inquiries you have and is happy to offer suggestions for your stay in Cabo. The condo is perfect for 2 people - it is clean, open and airy and supplied with everything you will need to enjoy your vacation in Cabo! The balcony is perfect for watching the whales and all of the boats passing by. You have a completely unobstructed view of the beach and the Pacific-side of the ocean. We like to cook (even on vacation!) and Lorne's place offered a fully stocked kitchen with everything you would need to prepare different meals. He even had a garrafon (water cooler sized jug) with a base to easily access the water. There is a fish market about 5 minutes away (across the street from Terrasol as you approach the marina) and we bought a kilo (2.2 lbs) of fresh mahi-mahi that they guy cleaned and filleted for us for $20 US. I loved that we could just take it back to the condo and grill it on the balcony! The condo was spotless, quiet and tranquil - absolutely perfect to just relax and take in the gorgeous views. Lorne even had a beach umbrella/towels/blankets/cooler to use, which we greatly appreciated. We rented a car b/c we wanted to explore the area but it is not necessary given the location of Lorne's place as it is within walking distance to the marina and malecón (shopping/restaurants/clubs etc.) There are 2 pools and one has a palapa bar/restaurant (with a swim-up bar!) The restaurant offers a full menu and the drinks are extremely reasonably priced. We were there for the last week in December and considering the time of year, it was very quiet. We loved our stay at Terrasol and the locations is perfect! If Lorne's place is available, stay here! You will love it!
Thank you for the nice review. It is a very accurate description of the facility and surrounding area. I enjoyed having you as a guest and would welcome you back anytime.
Great Oceanside View
We loved Terrasol; the quiet, the Palapa restaurant, the sparkling clean pool and, of course, the ocean. We did experience some issues. We were not able to access television for a few days. Default internet was spotty. We lost water when a pipe leaked outside. Maintenance fixed it as soon as we let them know. And, a few times there was the pungent smell of sewerage, especially in the bathroom.
We did, however, enjoy our stay. Thank you.
Great views and beautiful grounds
The studio has amazing views. My husband and I spent a week enjoying the beach, pool, and easily walkable downtown Cabo. The grounds are beautiful and low key. We had lunch one day at the restaurant and it was good.
We appreciated all the little things included in the condo like pool towels, washer/dryer, spices, condiments, grill, cooler, can coozies, etc. the kitchen is generally pretty well stocked. We grilled a couple times and made several lunches and had everything we needed to make it happen.
we did have some trouble with the tv and gave up trying to make it work after the first day. Lorne was responsive to our concern, but we decided it wasn't worth the time to try and resolve the problem.
Two things that could be better. The bed is very hard and the pillows are worse. A microwave would be very useful.
I would definitely stay again so I could sit on that back deck enjoying the view and my coffee/beer.
Thank you for your comments. We appreciate that the mattress should be replaced as it is on our to do list for our next stay in November.
