A/C wasn’t working upon arrival but got fixed next day. Traffic on 98 is pretty heavy but location is good. Easy walk to uncrowded beach.
The two faces of the neighborhood security guy....
Using the app, Hospitality, as our reference - we pulled a 6x12 cargo trailer behind our Yukon to haul our luggage, food, beach gear from Oklahoma. Upon arriving at the entrance, we met the head security guard who informed us that trailers were not allowed in the neighborhood, and handed us the neighborhood print-out. Yes, it did state no trailers in the paperwork - but should also state in the app that we were advised to download for our trip, by Compass Resorts. However, we asked if we could unpack our belongs and find a spot for the trailer the next morning - as it was already past 8 pm and after a 13 hour trip there. We were given the # of the Compass Resort contact, Tracey, and we made several attempts to reach her. Nothing. Then, the security man knocked on the door around 8:30 and said we really needed to have the trailer gone because the people in the neighborhood would probably have an issue with it. He went on and on about he tries to "overlook" certain things in the neighborhood and help people out - but it's the "neighbors" that have quite the issue. We called Compass and Holly said we could take the trailer to the Compass Resort parking lot the next morning - she emailed the address and we thought that it was the end. We then received a call from April at Compass stating that we needed to move the trailer that evening. Having dealt with Holly, we felt that we were okay to move it first thing Sunday morning and continue unpacking. My husband found a spot and decided to move the trailer, while he was out I received a call from April saying they were going to tow the trailer that night. I let her know that my husband had already moved it and there was no need to call in a tow truck.
Having to deal with the two-faced security guy was a real joy-stopper to starting off a great vacation - he liked to present himself as a "real helper" - but spent the first 2 hours of our trip dedicating himself to making sure that trailer was gone - cruising past the house repeatedly with his golf cart.
There was construction to the house just north of our rental - that could have been communicated prior to our visit. We had a construction worker come around the house and knock on the door asking to park equipment on the driveway. We had the sight of a port-a-john and a work van outside the front porch for the week - all things I consider way more invasive than a cargo trailer parked back under the garage.
Last visit for us to this spot.
Perfect beach rental
The house is in a great location and the community couldn't be nicer. Home is beautifully decorated and has plenty of space. The only downside is that a new home is being built next door and you have to put up with the noise, mess and trucks parked in front of the house! Also, the mattress in the master suite is hard, not firm, painfully hard.
Chez la Mer - Miramar Beach
Beautiful large home close to the beach and very close to the heated neighborhood pool. We loved the upstairs front porch and the deck in the back. A gas grill was a nice feature as we cook on our family vacation.
The house was clean and well kept. The neighbors were very friendly.
I didn’t give this property a 5 star as the beds were horrible and felt like we were sleeping on box springs instead of a mattress. Aside from the beds, the house is pretty perfect.
It was good
No beach chairs with property or beach service included. That would have been nice. Place was good.
Beautiful home in a quiet area close to beach.
We loved the home and the quiet neighborhood. Very short walk to beach and pool.
Home was spacious and beautifully decorated.
