Beautiful cabin with a great view.
We loved our stay! The cabin is beautiful, secluded, and has a great view. It was perfect for us. It was a great place to relax after a long day of hiking.
Beautiful and peaceful place to relax!!
Absolutely fell in love with this place! The cabin is so quaint and fully stocked with amenities to make your stay more comfortable. Even better place to bring the pups with! They truly enjoyed the open land and cabin was so cozy. The porch is a perfect place to have breakfast and enjoy the view. If you choose to hike the trails I recommend the hot tub afterwards, so relaxing on sore muscles and the stars were so beautiful! Over all wonderful experience, will definitely consider revisiting!
Great weekend away
The place was so nice and well taken care of and the location was absolutely perfect. A great way to unwind for the weekend.
This was our second time staying, and we are already talking about our next vaca. Lovely spot, wonderful hosts, and the dog came with us! We loved it.
Hubby and I just returned from a weekend getaway to Hocking Hills. We choice this cabin because we were able to bring our dogs and the price was good. We knew (from the reviews) that is wasn’t right near Hocking Hills State Park, but we didn’t realize it was 35-45 minutes from the closest “attraction” in Hocking Hills (Ash Cave). We were having difficulty with Google maps, so the time from Hocking Hills to the cabin varied based on which way the map took us. This was frustrating for us because after a long day of driving and hiking, we were just ready to get back to the cabin without hassle. If you are planning to spend most of your time in Hocking Hills, I would not recommend this cabin.
The cabin itself sits on top a hill and has a great view. We didn’t see much wildlife which was disappointing for these wildlife lovers. Hubby even took a walk on the trails and didn’t see anything. We enjoyed the seclusion but not the distance to the park. If we had to choice, the distance would come first.
The cabin is small which was fine for two of us and our small dogs. My issue was the cleanliness. It definitely didn’t meet my standards. The top of fridge (which is about 5 feet tall) was dusty, the beautiful moldings on the cabinets were dusty, all the shelving needed dusting, and the rug for the shower and the bottom of the shower curtain looked moldy or dirty.
We used the hot tub both nights and it looked cloudy. After turning on the jets it appeared less cloudy and we enjoyed it. The second night it was full of bubbles and we aren’t sure why. We still used it and showered immediately after incase the chemicals were off. Having a hit tub was definitely nice for tired muscles.
The air conditioner took quite a while to cool the place down the first night. The bedroom is in the loft (without windows) so the AC is a must on warm nights. It might be nice if the owner turned on the AC before guests arrive so the place is cooler. This would also help with the musty smell we encountered when we first walked in.
The front and back doors do not have screens so the doors could not be left open (unless you want bugs). We would have loved to have left the doors open for a fresh breeze.
Because our main reason for visiting this area was Hocking Hills, we probably would not stay at this cabin again.
