Fantastic holiday at La Logetta
This beautiful house was our home for 2 weeks in July August this year, 2018. The owner, Eugenia, was there to greet us when we arrived and assured us that if there were any problems, minor or major, we should text her and she would sort them out quickly. She was as good as her word. She answers her messages quickly and helped us with enquiries before, during and after our stay very well indeed.
Locally, Giuliano and Maria are close by to deal with any minor issues and Giuliano was there every day to clean and maintain the pool, usually before we were up!.
The house is in a beautiful, elevated position - the swimming pool has the best views of any pool I've ever swum in.
The neighbours are friendly and we had a memorable meal at their small "home restaurant".
The house itself is beautifully traditionally furnished, very comfortable and very, very spacious. Our (extended) family had plenty of room to get together but also to spread out and enjoy some private time.
The gardens are beautiful with olive, fig, walnut, bay and pomegranate trees all giving off a beautiful scent.
The nearest town, Narni, is a beautiful old hill town with everything you need to buy food, dine out and find out the local history.
Narni Scalo, Narni's more modern part, is where there are bigger shops and the railway station (Narni-Amelia) where there are regular trains to Rome (less than 1 hour) which are cheap and comfortable (air conditioned). Parking at the station costs 2 euros per day.We saw the Colosseum and the Forum on one day and the Vatican City on another. We purchased tickets before our holiday to avoid queues.
There are many local places of interest apart from Rome and Narni. We visited the Cascate delle Marmore which are the highest waterfalls in Europe and the Sacro Bosco at Bomarzo, but the locality of La Loggetta has beautiful walks which cost nothing.
We would not hesitate to recommend La Logetta to other holiday makers although we found the house very warm at night (July/August). We purchased electric fans at Conad supermarket at Narni Scalo very cheaply which enabled peaceful sleep and do not use much electricity.
Thank you Eugenia for renting us your lovely house and also to Giuliano and Maria for looking after us while we were there.
We have very happy memories of our stay which will stay with us forever.
