Place was situated in a very sketchy part of Athens. Very dangerous if you go one direction vs other. The ping pong table was great and the place was huge. 3 balconies were nice surprise.
Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed the ping pong table. Also, good to know that you enjoyed the size of this apartment and the views! The 3 balconies are indeed great! We are so glad to live in a city that has hardly any crime and have hosted and keep hosting hundreds of guests!
Enjoy your travels!
Spacious but not a homeaway
Great location, lots of space, but lacking the touch of it being a home as it is in fact a rental.
Kitchen very basic, heating basic for winter but overall should be perfect if you just spend the night there and the days out as there is lots to do in Athens.
Thank you for all your comments Beulah. Truly useful.
Enjoy your travels!
Clean, spacious and well organized, in a convenient location!
As urban dwellers in our U.S. city, we are very familiar with the sights and sounds of city living. Staying in this amazing home-away-from-home did not disappoint, as we knew what to expect...and our experience was stellar!
First, the spacious layout was a welcome contrast to the very small hotel rooms in which we had stayed across Europe. Of special note was the size of the master bathroom, in which the double-headed open shower with incredible water pressure made me want to remain far beyond the amount of available hot water.
The bedrooms allowed ample room, with large, very comfortable beds. The master bedroom's view of the Parthenon (described in more detail below) was a surreal sight to see at daybreak and sunset!
Although you do not visit Athens with the intention of remaining in your rented space, it is a bonus to have the benefit of Netflix on the television, as well as the ping-pong table...which was a first! On our last night, after a delicious Greek meal at Zampano (just around the corner), we held a tournament, with double elimination. Suffice it to say, trying to play ping-pong in a dress and heels does not result in a winning performance; but I had a blast!
The wrap-around patio offered evening respites, with comfortable seating and incredible views. This became a place of early-morning planning for the day's activities and end-of-evening reflections on the discoveries of the day.
Dozens of restaurants and bars are just steps from this property, including a small market and a bakery at the corner. Our breakfast included fresh-baked items each morning; and the market was very convenient for last-minute whims.
However, the most valuable asset of this property is its unimpeded view of the Parthenon, all lit up at night. We never tired of gazing across the few miles to the stunning site. It was just awesome, in the truest sense of the word!
The owners/managers of this property are very responsive and allow plenty of time to get you acclimated and familiar with the space, its amenities and the surrounding neighborhood.
Finally, the secure feeling of the building, with its locked entry doors, allowed a higher level of relaxation. Sure, it is imperative to be alert when walking these urban streets; but the benefits of location far outweigh any effort spent in being aware of our surroundings!
The verdict should be clear...this property is an extreme value; and we would most definitely choose it again, when visiting Athens!
Thank you so much for your detailed review and thank you taking the time to write it. I believe you have said it all!
Hope to see you again!
Enjoy your travels : )

Very large open space apartment
Superb master bedroom and showers (2).
Very wide open space (kitchen, dining, living & playroom).
2nd bedroom smaller, with shower and toilet.
Outside balconies run around the apartment.
Thank you Michel. So good to know you enjoy your stay with one of Boutique Athens's apartments.

Cool, edgy and large property in good, and somewhat edgy, location
My American family of five (ages 54, 50, 16, 14 and 12) recently spent three nights at this property, as our Athens base, before heading to the Greek islands for six more nights there. The highlights of this property are many:
* the owner/manager (Boutique Athens) was very easy to work with, very responsive and communicative, and very user friendly.
* the apartment is spacious and open, including a large wrap-around balcony with views of the Acropolis. (The balcony also serves as a great place to dry clothes, as the apartment has a good washing machine, and the dry heat and breeze on the balcony dried clothes very quickly.)
* the apartment's air conditioning units worked very well.
* the apartment's location is good in terms of being able to walk to many of Athens' big historical and tourist sites.
* there are many good restaurant options within easy walking distance of the apartment.
I would stay in this apartment again if I ever needed an Athens vacation residence. One additional comment: the immediate neighborhood for this apartment is edgy, it's in transition and it's gritty, so don't expect a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons-type atmosphere outside of the apartment itself. The apartment's rental price, which is very attractive, reflects this. If you are comfortable in various New York City or Los Angeles (or London or Beijing or Paris) urban neighborhoods, you'll be comfortable here.
Thank you Chris for all your kind words and your very valuable feedback!
It has been a pleasure being your hosts!

Great start to family vacation
Location was great and near Monistraki subway at edge of Plaka. Big that 5 adults had no problem having plenty of space. Hosts did great job explains the local area.
Thank you VIctor for all your kind words! Enjoy your travels!
