Quiet and comfortable
Which is almost a miracle for summertime in Venice on a Biennale year! The apartment was secure and well appointed, and the availability of Vicky for optional housekeeping service, as well as assistance with day-to-day issues was a great benefit. Wifi and a/c worked very well. Do ask about location of nearest supermarket: the COOP near the Palanca waterbus stop. It shows up on Google Maps, but not right away, you have to be looking for it.
Staying in the Giudecca does require an added investment in waterbus fares: I recommend making use of the 2-day or the weekly ACTV passes: not cheap but they encourage checking out the whole city and major islands. Because I stayed for close to 3 months and plan to return, I got the Venezia Unica card (valid 5 years) with renewable one-month passes.
An Italian fellow-academic who spent the night was very impressed by this apartment as a long-term rental. That's a solid endorsement!
Dear Mary, I am very happy that you have had a good staying in my apartment.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review you gave me.
Know that you will always be welcome if you want to return. A hug.
The apartment from Hell!
Nothing worked and when we asked for our money back Sylvia said we could not have it! There was no way of complaining although the long -suffering cleaner did try to make things better. She kept blaming"the Brazilians" for everything that didn't work which included the hall lights, the dining room lamp, the bath plug (my husband had to empty it with a bucket!), a kitchen cupboard door fell on his head etc. The list was endless and the view was of a forlorn tree and the Hilton hotel.
Hidden jewel in a lovely island
We loved the location on sight. The apartment is modern, comfortable, clean and has everything you need - even a dishwasher and washing machine. We were sent all sorts of information about the area: restaurants, shops, instructions on how to get there from the airport and timetables for water transportation. We were delighted with the whole experience.
It was a lovely and very comfortabke apt So steam abs modern. The bed was very comfortable,
Giudecca was a great place to stay away from the hordes in Sam Marco . It was peaceful and quiet and a very plrasant residential area which we preferred. Good restaurants with helpful people .
Giudecca was non touristy - perfect.
Staying at Molino Stucky was ideal as you can hop the free Hilton shuttle across the canal .
If we ever went again we would definitely stay at Silvia’s place again or at least on Giudecca.
Silvia’s suggestions for stores and restaurants were very helpful .
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Silvia’s apt.
