Great cabin if you're not looking for anything fancy that is not too far from the main village.
More than adequate for 3 small families. Since our children are still young and afraid to sleep on their own, we actually had 2 vacant rooms. Although there was not much snow around the cabin itself, there was plenty of snow around the creek just a short walk down the hill behind the cabin where our kids were able to enjoy snow play. Seems like you would be able to do sledding right on the side of the cabin if there is snow, but our stay was just a few days too soon. I loved the fact that it is nearby Pioneer Trail, which can get you basically anywhere around South Lake Tahoe without all the traffic of Lake Tahoe Blvd. We were just a few minutes away from the main village where you can take the Gondola up for some amazing views of the lake as well as skiing, snowboarding, or tubing for the little ones. And just a few more streets after, the casinos. The only negatives that our group stated was the fact their is no Keurig machine, so we had to bring our own from home. I really didn't care about that though since I am not a coffee person, but my wife is. And the blender was missing a piece I believe. Not sure, but I heard the females complaining while trying to make a salsa. Oh yeah, and the trash bag situation. There weren't enough enough trash bags for the restrooms or kitchen, but we managed with bags we accumulated from purchases while in town. But these were minor issues in my opinion. Still had a great time and would definitely book again. I just may give it a shot this summer.
Thanks for the feedback, Jason. We bought a new blender and stocked up on trash bags.
Great chalet for groups!
We had a group of 10 people and thought this was a wonderful, clean, and cozy cabin. The living room had plenty of seating so we all sat comfortably together. There were a lot of bedrooms to fit all of us (with real beds for everyone) and the deck was nice and private with a great view! There’s even a hot tub on the deck. We made use of the outdoor grill and found the kitchen to be extremely well-furnished. The chalet was in a great location. We had fun renting bikes and biking to Lake Tahoe from the cabin and it was only around a 10 minute drive to the casinos. The owner, Rick, was very responsive and friendly with any questions that we had. One of our group members forgot a jacket in the cabin and Rick went out of his way to send it back to her. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in the future!
We had 10 people staying here (two families of four, and two grandmas). The cabin is clean and neat. Everything you need is there. There is one half bath and two regular (one with shower, one with tub). I would say it is ideal for two families of 4-5. It's cozy and just right.
The owner was very helpful and friendly, promptly replying to all emails (thank you!).
This is a residential neighborhood, and the across the street neighbors have made clear that they do not support vacation rentals in their neighborhood (they have a sign promptly displayed in their yard stating as much, so that you can read it when you drive in). As soon as we drove in, I saw the neighbor dusting a rug so I smiled and waved (she had no choice but to wave back....and smile). Sometimes that's all it takes. So if you rent here, be sensitive to this issue and don't be a loud drunk jerk (or whatever).
Really enjoyed our stay. Great little cabin in the woods.
