Wonderful apartment in great location
We enjoyed our recent stay at this property. Christine and Tom were very responsive and provided great information prior to check-in. Maura was very helpful upon arrival, as well. We would definitely stay here again!
This darling apartment is one of the - if not THE - nicest apartment I have rented for vacation in the past 12 years. It is wonderfully appointed, I imagine by Christine. Any apartment decorated with a woman's touch is always better. This is the first apartment that had a measuring cup for cooking! (of course, it was in ml) The apartment has small rooms, cozy and adequate for me, as I travel solo. The mattress on the bed was superb and being in that bed was like being in a cocoon - SO COZY! The tv operation is simple, unlike many apartments, it was very safe - behind 4 doors and up an elevator - and quiet except for kids yelling outside on Friday night for a little bit. Very private. The location is great - in the city, yet away from the noise of Temple Bar, and O'Connell Street. I walked everywhere. After dark, the city is well lit and lots of people were out, I felt quite safe. I was also informed that people really care and try to help when needed; two examples of that were when I took taxis home two nights, asking the drivers to drop me at the corner, and BOTH of them asked "will you be alright from here?" - I LOVE IRELAND! "My local" became Oil Can Harry's, Daniel is my bartender. If you cannot walk distances, there are buses. And the Aircoach from the airport is extraordinarily convenient!
Cozy and Comfortable
First off, this property is small but I knew that going in. The property manager, Maura is amazing from the initial check in process to replacing a broken coffee maker in just a few hours! Also the property was quiet at night and had really nice windows you could tilt open for fresh air which we often did. The location is a bit far from Dublin city center, about a 20 minute walk to Molly Malone statue or O'Connell street unless you are walking brisk enough to work up a sweat. We often did tours that left at of Dublin and they picked up from these center locations. On rainy days we just had to take a cab. I'm not opposed to walking but when returning at night the route takes you through some pretty empty/sketchy looking neighborhoods. On future trips, I think I would prefer a more central location, especially when traveling with kids. However, if the location of the condo is what you are looking for then go for it! My only real complaints are as follows: The check in/info pdf is too long. My phone wouldn't even open it. I think it really needs to be more condensed as the manager provides a printed version once you arrive. The temperature of the shower water is consistently inconsistent. The manger explained you could "boost" the hot water by hitting a special button 30 minutes before use. We did that. My experience was it did make the shower much hotter (too hot) and it was hard to find a nice medium. It would get hot but not stay hot. At one point I took a 10 minute shower washing my hair. I had to get out with the conditioner in because the water went from warm to ice cold without warning and it took over 30 minutes to heat back up. I tried early morning showers, late night showers and couldn't find a great solution. My 4 year old was getting showered with the attachment and the hose bumped the temp switch and just the little movement from that changed the temp of the water from warm to waaaaay too hot. He screamed as he got burned! I felt awful! basically instead of longevity of warm water you get scalding or ice cold. Hopefully it gets addressed.
Great location and service
Clear, tidy and a great location, and the owners where very accommodating, my flight arrived very late after a delay and there was still someone there to meet me and show me round! Nothing was to much trouble. Great place I would stop again!
Comfort In Dublin
If you want a place to rest your weary feet after exploring Dublin, this is the apt. Charming, cute and comfortable, the owners have made this apt one to remember. I asked for a few special amenities for our trip and they came through tenfold! Maura was very detailed in showing us the apt and even gave us a hint for a location to visit while in Dublin. Lots of pubs and shopping within easy walking distance. Tom and Christine were easy to work with during the booking process and we would return in a heartbeat!
