Beautiful home and magical setting.
My family and I loved Desert Moon. It’s artistic charm and proximity to Mt. Lemmon were wonderful.
We look forward to returning.
PS: Make sure to bring a pair of flip flops or sandals for walking around concrete floors and patios.
Delightful desert hide away
Desert Moon Retreat is a delightful property located such that you feel you’re alone in the desert, yet stores, restaurants, etc. are close at hand. We stayed for a week and never tired of the views, the wildlife, or the solitude. The house itself is an architectural treat, and while I wouldn’t want to live with all the levels, quirky stairs, and rough floors year round, it was fun for a visit. The property is pet friendly, and our dog enjoyed the enclosed property, and getting acquainted with desert flora and fauna. We would definitely return to Desert Moon retreat.
Paradise in the Dessert Mtn Home
I wanted to give 5 stars for the pool . However, that would not be a fair review overall. The property was actually at the base of the Mountains(large windows all around) The landscape around was very cool to look at and admire. The pool and hot tub were top knotch and clean. The house inside had that southwest real indian home decoration with aggragate floors through the inside with rugs in comfort areas. My feet were not used to the flooring. I would recommend bringing a pair of slippers or flip-flops for walking inside the house. Not much privacy for shower in master bath and walkway stairs to toilet was very narrow. Bed was so comfortable. We were there with record breakings temperatures around (110 to 117degrees F) and it was hard to get cooled down in the house and in our new car. But, we had the pool, Thank God. About a mile from a convience store.
There was a river bed on the property that had little flakes of copper in it everwhere. It was cool to explore. If you get too hot take a trip up to Mt. Lemon, only about 40min drive and temp drops about 20 degrees. Big closets and rooms. Even had a study room if you need your own space for working online. I liked the cozy little kitchen booth for eating. Or if you have a big family there is a dining table. There is a guest house, but, really the guest we had were only there for one night so we had the pool to ourselves. They even have a large propane grill outside, If you feel like bbq bring some steak or ribs. Tucson was a city very easy to drive in.The best part was all the Saguaro cactus. We will be back to visit.

This was our 3rd annual visit to this property, and we're already planning next year's trip.
This is a beautiful house, with all the amenities you need. The house is so unique, you won't find anything else like it!
It's very private, and we don't really venture out - our days are spent relaxing by the pool, and enjoying the wildlife and desert scenery surrounding us. The guest house is separate - so if you want complete privacy, you should reserve both. However, we weren't bothered by others on the property when we had just the house.
The pool area, landscaping, BBQ, and various seating areas around the house and pool provide plenty of options for whatever you want to do.
Highly recommend this property for a lazy retreat, or as a base if you're venturing out. We have had no problems going in to town or to the other attractions nearby.
Love it here!
