This property is the perfect accommodations in a town with such an artistic and friendly culture!
This property is absolutely wonderful. The artistic construction and unique charm had us admiring new facets of the hand crafted construction through out our whole stay; yet the wood and stone materials David has used in his construction create a very warm, relaxed and snuggle-right-in atmosphere.
David met us when we arrived, gave us a quick tour of the Casita, answered any questions we had, told us how to get in touch if we needed (two doors down) and then left us to explore for 9 days. He provided just the right information we needed without being intrusive.
The location is easily within 10 to 15 minutes walking distance of the plaza and center of Taos. My wife and I walked downtown twice a day, usually mid morning and then again for dinner and evenings out. Depending when you visit, traffic can be heavy and parking is not easy in downtown Taos, so the ability to walk was appreciated. Walking back after dark does require a light for part of the way, but a cellphone flashlight worked just fine; and the neighborhood felt very safe. But please realize this is from our perspective living in a very remote area of expansive woods in Northern Michigan and having no real fear of the dark..
And while we were close to downtown, the location has pleasantries of rural life; cows roaming in a pasture right out the back window; a rooster could be heard in the distance each morning, and what sounded like ducks ever so often at night? None of this was ever intrusive or interrupted our sleep however.
We hope to visit Taos again, and we hope this property is available when we do!!
Thank you David and Petra
The Boettcher's were perfect guests. Communication was good and appreciated. They treated our Casita as their own home and that is very appreciated, guests like them are rare and a charm to host. They are welcome back anytime and we would highly recommend them.
10 stars!!! By far the best!
This place is absolutely gorgeous! The craftsmanship will blow you away. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Nice quiet street, very friendly owners, and close to historic Taos. I’ve stayed in many Home Aways, and this Casita was by far the absolute best. I highly recommend staying here! You will only be amazed and inspired!
Very charming, personable and energetic young lady. It was a joy having Stephanie as a guest. She was very lavish in her praise, we appreciate that. Would love to have as a guest again and would highly recommend.
Really loved it!
Beautiful and comfortable. Would love to stay there again.
Delightful couple. Good communication. Left our Casita in good order. Would definitely recommend as guests and would gladly host again.
We have never seen anything like this! I had seen some great pictures before I made the reservation but when we arrive we were in shock on how fantastic it was - from the front gate to the front door we knew we were in heaven. Everything in Casita Linda is hand made by the wonderful owner, David Rael. The walls, kitchen , bathroom and bedroom are fantastic and have furniture made by David. The beautiful garden and built in BBQ are unbelievable. Casita Linda is conveniently located in Taos and on a dead end street with no traffic. We would stay nowhere else when we go back to Taos.
If you have a chance to go to Taos this is the only place to stay!
Great Couple, great communication, left Casita in good order, would definitely host again. And would highly recommend.
Casita Linda is a very unique facility! The owners, Dave & Petra, have put a lot of work into this home. The one-of-a-kind woodwork in the casita is really breathtaking...art in wood! Dave went above and beyond to make sure that we had exactly what we needed while there. It was in a quiet area and well equipped. Thank you for the home away from home!!
We enjoyed having the Garrisons as guests. Very friendly and personable. Left the Casita in tip top shape. Would gladly host again.
Discover why NM is called the Land of Enchantment in this Enchanting Casita
If you measure your lodging experience in terms of the amenities available and the degree of familiar comfort to which you are accustomed, you will probably be just fine at Casita Linda. It checks all the boxes, with the possible exception of missing HD big screen TV.
But a dry listing of amenities falls far short of conveying what an extraordinarily unique, intimate, and immersive experience is possible here. My wife and I were in Taos to take care of some personal business matters and David & Petra's welcoming casita far exceeded our expectations. To begin with there is the seclusion of having your own place, with a fenced yard, midway down a dead-end lane. We were surprised to discover this secluded rural feel within easy walking distance of the plaza.
However, the real delight arises from opening yourself up to the surprises this house offers inside and out. David and Petra welcomed us upon our arrival, gave us a brief tour and then left us to explore and enjoy on our own for the remainder of our stay. In a sense, we came to know them through the creative and very personal touches that are evident throughout the house. It exhibits such astonishing attention to detail, creative craftsmanship, and artful interweaving of stone, earth, wood, sky, and glass that we felt humbled and grateful to have been invited to live inside the process of its unfolding artistic creation. This house is a perfect reflection and expression of all that we love about northern New Mexico and we look forward to returning here whenever we have occasion to be back in Taos.
A very lovely couple. We enjoyed our brief visit with them. Left Casita in good order. Would definitely recommend and would be more than happy to have as guests again!
