Great glamping experience!
The pictures of this property accurately depict your lodging. We had a great stay here, but would like to point out a few things to others wanting to rent. One, while you are not bothered at all, there are other people on this property. The owners live on the property and have two other rentals on the property. Having said that, the property is 13 acres, you can't see any of the other properties, and no one bothered us. The owners were nearby if we needed anything and gave a helpful tip to walk a beautiful trail on their property. Second, I would NOT recommend driving the gravel road down, especially in the dark, even with a four wheel or all wheel drive vehicle. It adds an extra 20 minutes to your travels and is a very winding, hairpin turns, gravel road. Also, while you are next to a fast moving river and can hear it at night, which is wonderful, you can still hear noise from the main road. Lastly, the only other thing we noticed was that the pictures show a fire pit by the river, but we think that's been moved because when we asked, we were told it was in front of the other rentals. Overall, this was a great place to stay! They have all the amenities you can think of, the hot tub was wonderful, and the scenery can't be beat!! Awesome place!
Dream Family Weekend
The location, the property, the amenities, it was all so wonderful! I especially appreciated the cleanliness and the very thoughtful little things--plenty of storage hooks, couches, well-stocked kitchen, everything! Our family of 4 loved it!
Redwood Heaven
Amazing property. A drive through the redwood forest to the property every time you go out exploring and come back to rest.
It was a fantasy fulfilled. I am sure the people in the area realize this, but they live in a piece of heaven daily.
Perfect getaway
Amazing location of this Yurt. Secluded and feels like in the middle of nowhere but not actually isolated as owner is nearby, as well as town of Gasquet. All our needs were met. Communication with owner was prompt. They anticipated our needs and were very helpful. Comfortable beds and accommodations. 6 of us stayed comfortably, we brought two air beds. Being able to play on the river, easily drive to Redwoods and Crescent City, day trip to Oregon Caves and accessibility of NPS ranger station and town of Gasquet made this location nothing short of perfect. We aren't campers, so this was a perfect way for us to expose our kids to vacationing outdoors, campfires and sleeping in a "tent"...glamping was very fun at the Middle Fork Ranch Yurt. Also found out the NPS provides life jackets at Smith River. Redwood Rides was terrific for water activities, outings and anything one might want to rent rather than bring along. It was a great trip. So much to do! Thrilled we were able to find an open week this summer. Hope to go back. Tip for others: Was surprised by the cooler coastal weather in the area. It was lovely during our stay, and perfect hot by day/cool at night. Make sure to prepare by checking average temps in area. Coastal is much cooler than surrounding areas. Yurt was exceptionally comfortable with AC, fan, and windows for air flow. Naturally cooled at night. Highly recommend! One of our favorite family vacations.
Always
Love staying in the yurt. This is my third time here, and won't be my last.
Loved the yurt!
We had a great family trip and lovely stay in the yurt! It was our first time to the area and thought the ranch was a perfect place for our stay. It was near the National and State parks (Redwoods!!! - the main reason for our trip. They were amazing!) as well as the coast. Kris was prompt and helpful with information before and during our trip. And Leo (neighbor) was just as helfpful! Fresh eggs and blackberries made great additions to our meals. Our kids loved exploring the trails and the river on the property - we found some fun swimming holes. We enjoyed eating at the gazebo and seeing the deer walk very near by. The stackable laundry seen in the photos has been replaced with a single washer/dryer unit - it is very small (and loud) and takes a long time per load. Still functional, but was an adjustment for us to use. And be aware of poison oak - it's everywhere - gladly only one of us came home with an itchy rash. We stopped in Cave Junction for groceries, but would recommend the WalMart in Crescent City instead. The Gasquet Market had essentials in a pinch. Absolutely we would stay here again if we are back in the area! Thanks again Mike & Kris (and Leo)!
