No hot water
Stayed at this hotel on the 16th of September and I was disappointed the minute we checked in. First we were told the card to our room was not working and therefore had to get reception to let us into our room every time we went out. A change of room was not offered until we questioned why that was not an option. Secondly there was no hot water on the morning of our departure as the boiler had broken down and the reception could not say when the engineer would be arriving to fix it. Suffice to say we were very disappointed !!
Rooms changed towards wedding reception, noisy!
It is one of those things, you book a quiet night in a hotel and you unwittingly stumble upon a wedding reception on the day you arrive. Should I have been forewarned about this? Possibly - it would have changed my plans for sure. When I queried this at the front desk upon arrival, they assured me our room shouldn't be affected and we are away from the noise. So I pay up and go about our day of activities.
Upon returning around 10pm to settle down for the night, firstly the car park was strewn with cars parked poorly, the music was already loud and we had a heatwave in the day so the room was quite warm when we returned and had a damp cloth smell that filled the room. We couldn't open windows because of the music, so I went downstairs to see if anything could be done. Front desk said unfortunately no rooms were available to move us further from the music but provided a fan so we could at least keep cool in the room. They also implied that something would be compensated so I left it at that and would be resolved in the morning.
Side note - Back in the room I noticed that our pack with the room key had an original room printed on the card which was crossed out and a new room was assigned and it turns out our original room would have been as far away as possible from the reception.
When I checked out in the morning, nothing was mentioned at front desk about the issues we had or any apology for the inconvenience but I didnt have the energy to complain and just left, fuming.
