A clean and well thought out cabin with bear themed decor. We would definitely use it again. We Loved the outdoor jacuzzi and also all the detailed and easy to follow instructions. Taking hikes in the forest just behind the cabin was a plus too!
A relaxing spot in the mountains!
My husband and I took our three grandsons and two small dogs for a week in the mountains to get out of the desert heat. The cabin is perfect, and we had plenty of space for us . Such a great layout, the boys were thrilled to be close to a park so they could play basketball. We walked the mountain trail at the end of the street several days. Well equipped kitchen and bathrooms made it easy to cook meals and no fighting over the bathroom. Our dogs loved the fenced yard and the hot tub was a hit with us all. Such a great house for a really reasonable rate! Thank you for sharing this little bit of heaven with us!
Perfect Family Getaway
Overall the property was perfect for our family getaway. The hubs and son enjoyed the hot tub daily. Everything was clean. Beds comfortable. Susan was a wonderful communicator and Nick was quick to respond to questions once we checked in.
For about seven years we’ve made an annual summer trip to Big Bear. Often we stay in a lake view or waterfront property. This year we needed to watch the budget more due to taking a big spring break trip this past March. Though it was more of a drive going (by just a few minutes) into the village it worked out. Exactly what we needed for this trip.
Great short stay with grandkids.
Booked this place the night before as we never know if our grandkids will be available. The reservation process was a cinch through VRBO and I received confirmation immediately through email. I had a few questions for the owner, which were answered promptly. The check in process was described in the email and was easy. I will say to make that phone call before you start up the mountain, because cell service is spotty once you start the climb. The house was as described. The kitchen was well equipped and plenty of linens, towels, extra blankets. The beds were comfortable. The hot tub was a very nice addition, and I enjoyed morning soaks with my husband and coffee, while the “tweens” slept in. The BBQ is charcoal, so you need to bring your own. There was only 1 small bar of soap and 1 set of shampoo/conditioner/ lotion in 1 of the 2 bathrooms, probably a small oversight by cleaners.
A couple of notes to the owner/property manager and future renters: HOT TUB: The 3 sets of instructions for the hot tub are contradictory and confusing. We had to call the property manager because we couldn’t get it heating on the 1st night. Also mention that it will take 4-6 hours to reach a good temp and to leave it running, but covered for your stay if you intend to use it. TV/DVD: Please leave instructions for getting to NETFLIX and where most available channels start in the Direct TV listing. The guide starts with a ton of pay per view channels which the renters can’t access anyway. We found Netflix by accident.
Specify that the DVD is NOT Blue-Ray and won’t accept nonBlue Ray DVDs. You could use some updated or classic DVD movies. Not sure why you still have VCRs in the cabin as we didn’t see a player to watch them. Steak knives (in the utensil drawer) could use upgraded quality, the handles came off while we were cutting steak.
Really everything was great. Those were just minor issues. Would stay again in a heartbeat! Thanks for the use of your mountain home.
