2019 Winter Week on Main St.
Our winter week visiting family while staying in the 2nd floor apt. downtown Belfast was convenient and reasonably priced. The natural light coming into the kitchen/living room was fabulous as i spent many hours cooking. Having 2 bedrooms and a pack n play provided us with an opportunity for our grandsons first sleepover! Thankfully we had our sound machines to drown out some of the pre-dawn plow trucks noise while plowing the surrounding roads. Having our designated parking spot behind the building was a plus.
Wonderful apartment! Great location!
Loved staying here! Was a truly comfortable and centrally located apartment- would stay here again in a minute!!
So glad you liked it. It surely is a spacious and comfy spot so well located. Though we did not get to meet Bruce, he did a great job finding an apartment that suited his guests. Thank you. Victoria
This apartment is in a wonderful location within waking distance of everything in Belfast. It was our first time staying in this city and we loved it. There are lots of things to do including a nice city park (about a mile from the apartment), a beautiful harbor walk (just a few minute walk from apt), and cute shops. We went to Moonbat City Baking company every morning - it was amazing!. We had a tapas supper at the brewery that was great and ate a few other meals downtown that were very enjoyable. We had 3 adults and 2 small children and there was room for all of us. We loved sitting outside on the porch in the mornings. There was an A/C unit in the main area and fans in the bedroom. We were there when it was very warm by Maine standards and still very comfortable. We highly recommend eating at the Lobster pound across the river. There is a unit above this one, but we never heard a peep out of them. It was very quiet and noise was never an issue. Overall, Victoria and her group did a great job communicating and having everything set up to make our stay easy and enjoyable.
Great space and location! A few issues.
I want to make sure I start with the positive because we really did enjoy our stay! Belfast has quickly become one of our favorite places, and we really enjoyed staying in the heart of town on Main Street this year. This second floor unit was above a really cute shop, and we loved having all of the shops and restaurants literally just outside our door. The unit was plenty big and was decorated very nicely. And it was very clean! Victoria was very easy to work with and she always communicated with us in a timely manner. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. We only had a few issues, but I do think they are important to note. It was unseasonably warm the weekend we were there, and the condo does not have air conditioning. Victoria told us that there was a window unit available, but we chose not to try and set it up on our own. There were also some floor fans available so that helped a bit. So when renting in the summer, just make sure the window A/C unit is ready! There is a third floor unit above this condo, and it can get very loud. A few times it felt like the family above us was actually in our unit. There is a shared rooftop patio for the two units, and the family above us spent a lot of time out there so that may be why it felt so loud as the patio is right off of the family room. Finally, there are two TV's in the unit - one in the master bedroom and one in the family room. Neither have cable, but the TV in the family room is a smart TV. However, the smart TV does not have built in apps like Netflix or Hulu - or at least we couldn't find them! After an hour of messing around (there weren't any instructions on how to use the TV), I was able to wirelessly sync my laptop to the smart TV, but the wifi was so weak that streaming video was painstakingly slow. On our second night, it didn't work at all. Obviously we were in Maine to enjoy the outdoors and explore the area, but we were looking forward to curling up in front of the TV at night, and unfortunately that wasn't possible. While this wasn't a deal breaker for us, it would have been nice to know in advance. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend to anyone visiting Belfast - just be aware of the potential noise and bring a book :)
Samantha, I must question why you did not call or text one of the 3 numbers provided for you on the apartment info sheet. We could have been right back to you to install the air conditioner (which you mentioned in your text was not necessary) and show you how to use Smart Tv. (We will take your suggestion to leave instructions to the Smart tv)
The upstairs neighbors do not have a "shared" access to the deck...if you had contacted us, we could have resolved that issue as well.
Great little spot for a weekend in the city
The apartment is a perfect location for exploring the little city of Belfast. We have been to the city before and stayed a little further out last time, but this was perfect for being a short distance to everything.
The unit is small but nice, as are the rooms, the beds are comfortable and the apartment is furnished with everything you need.
Would highly recommend staying here, and likely will stay here again in the future.
Adam, thank you for taking the time to review our apartment. Though I quite disagree with you on it being small. One large bedroom, one a bit smaller, a wide hallway, lots of closets and a large combined living room, kitchen and dining room. As well, it sleeps five. Have a wonderful summer, glad you enjoyed our town.
