Great views, 4wd or awd vehicle was necessary when me and my wife went due to the snowy conditions. We planned for this and made sure our vehicle was good enough for the conditions. Location was great and wasn't too far from Telluride and other sites. Hot tub was excellent and worked just fine. The care taker was very friendly and responded when needed.
Cute house in the middle of beautiful countryside.
The pyramid house was very unique. We loved the herds of elk every morning and tranquility of sitting under the stars in the hot tub every night. Only downside was the 30 minute drive to Telluride. Also, 4- wheel drive is required.
Did not meet expectations
Overall the design of the cabinet is breath taking... but it comes with a price. First, I was told barely a day or two before the trip that it would be beneficial to have 4x4 capabilities... thank god I did. The road to the cabin was full of snow and ice. A 3 mile drive turned into 45 mins. Extremely scary and dangerous! Once at the cabin we noticed that the heat would only stay in the first floor and would not reach the sleeping quarters in the upper levels. We had to get extra blankets in order to not freeze at night. But during the day we had to turn off the heater because the house would become an oven ... heat heat heat. We even opened all doors and windows because of the heat.
Upon arrival the first day we noticed that the refrigerator was not cooling, so we had to wait until night to place our food in the fridge, good thing it was cold enough outside for the food.
Aside for that, I was mostly disappointed by the fact that the hot tub was out of service. I was also told about this two days before my stay. I mainly booked this cabin for the hot tub and it did not get fixed for our stay.
I think in the future it should be warned to people about the road conditions, that would have made us pick another property instead of risking the drive and the unfixed hot tub.
Broken Hot Tub Ruined Honeymoon
My husband and I were so excited to visit Telluride and stay in this adorable home for our honeymoon! We rented it solely because of the hot tub on the deck as we were going over Thanksgiving and it was going to snow! However when we got there, the hot tub did not work. Andy was super helpful and tried to fix it but the heating element was broken. He contacted the owner and said she would give us a discount. We never heard anything from her. If we had known this was going to be an issue, we never would have stayed at the Pyramid House. After spending over $1000 for 4 nights, you would expect every advertised ammenity to be in working condition. Before booking, I would recommend confirmation the hot tub works so you aren’t as disappointed as we are.
We had a lovely time staying in the unique pyramid house. It's setting is beautiful. Hearing the coyote and elk in the distance is amazing. The property is on a quiet dirt road and great for a morning or afternoon walk with the dog. The house is well stocked with towels and laundry facilities are available for guests to use. Kitchen is well supplied for cooking meals at home. Having the hot tub and steam shower added to the overall experience. My only complaint is that housekeeping could be better.
Heaven on Earth
This was our second visit to the Pyramid House and we loved it just as much. The views, the stars, the milky way are all incredible. We love riding our bikes on the mesa and taking advantage of all the great hikes in the area. The house is cozy and we felt welcomed.
