This is a wonderful house positioned in a beautiful location. My wife and I stayed here for three nights and had a fantastic time.
Thank you so much-we'd love to have you back anytime!
The Beach House of my Dreams
Opening onto the waterfront, this very private house breathes comfort and relaxation. With a vaulted sky-lit ceiling in the entryway, a vast 1700 sq. ft. of beautifully decorated living space, and windows galore you will feel the outside being welcomed in.
The kitchen cupboards are filled with dishes, silverware, pots and pans, small appliances, spices and other staples to aid in the preparation and serving of meals. You can also head out to the back garden and pick some fruit and berries. We went home with a bag full of apples and freshly picked blackberries.
Super comfortable beds, not to mention the magnificent master ensuite bathtub and shower, give you that five-star hotel feeling.
Outside you can cozy up with morning coffee on the Adirondack chairs situated on the patio. In the evening you can sit on the beach deck sipping your favorite beverage watching the sky light up with the sunset.
The beach directly in front of the house is covered with smooth pebbles and rocks. You can find a stretch of sand to the right of the house -just a few minutes’ walk away. My son and grandson came for the day and wore water shoes ($10 at Walmart). They had no trouble walking over the stones and had great fun at turning the stones over to find small crabs scurrying away.
We were lucky enough to be there to catch the Saturday Robert’s Creek market and the Wednesday Farm Gate market just up the road- local people selling their homemade goods.
If you are a hiker, you can head out to gorgeous Cliff Gilker Park – just a few short minutes away by car. We did all five trails and found them to be very manageable for all ages (we are seniors).
As far as restaurants, a quick walk down the road you will find the Gumboot Café and the Gumboot restaurant. Their meals are prepared with fresh vegetables from their own garden. We also had the good fortune to stumble across the restaurant Drift in Gibsons (20 minutes away by car) – fabulous food and service with a million- dollar view from the patio. While in Gibsons check out the Sunshine Coast Olive Oil Company.
Sechelt, just 20 minutes away by car, is great to explore. You can download an app which will direct you to their public art and murals. The seawall is beautiful to stroll along with your ice-cream cone purchased at E.B.’s ice-cream booth – they serve the best mango gelato in town.
Overall, our entire experience felt like first class pampering. I fell in love with this house.
Wow, Audrey-thanks so much! Pretty sure I should have had you write the description for the website! To top it off, you left the house in perfect condition, so thank you for that as well. Please come be our guest again soon-we do rent by the month, you know! ;)
Accurate details please!
Overall we were pleased with our stay and the property as we loved Roberts Creek and it was a sunny week .
However, it is important to honestly portray the property to avoid disappointment. Renters depend on this.
One feature that we were taken with was the lovely sandy beach portrayed in the pictures....perfect for walking we thought. Perhaps it was at some very very low tide that we did not experience during our week. At no time at low tide was there a sandy beach in front of the property. We had to trek either to left or right over rocky terrain to reach sand further away.
I am glad that I read the reviews in advance as they alerted me to large the rocks which precede the beach. They were so large that one older member of our group was sadly never able to access the beach [ eg no ladder etc]. I was disappointed in the owner's response to previous renters' reviews regarding these rocks as, "of course, necessary for protection". Fine but do mention the limitations in your description.
The cottage was large, well equipped and we loved the fruit trees and the ability to walk into town.
So, the main issue was not having a clear idea regarding beach access in advance....important to know for guests with impaired mobility
Darlene, with respect, I don't think your review is fair or accurate. The description and photos are clear and concise and include this caveat:
"As mentioned, we are blessed to have 100 feet of low bank waterfront on the best beach on the Sunshine Coast. Please be aware that this will include rocks both big and small, as well as other natural hazards. Like all properties along this beach, shoreline protection is a necessity, so there are large boulders lining the shoreline. Care must be taken, especially with children and the elderly, and those of us who are differently abled or have mobility issues could very likely find the beach, and the beach access, difficult or impossible to navigate. And of course, one must always be aware around any water; especially the ocean but also our little creek." That is just the reality of life on the west coast and I don't know how I could be more clear or upfront about that. And the tides of course are another reality over which I have no control. I'm sorry to hear that in no time in the five days you stayed with us did you experience a low-low tide but I promise you, they do exist. I wish you had reached out to me before your rental to explain you had an elderly person in your group with "impaired mobility" issues; I would have been very happy to give you a recommendation to one of the local hotels with a pool. Nonetheless, I wish you and your family well and I hope you can find a hotel or motel on the Sunshine Coast that will better suit your needs the next time you visit our coast!
Great location, beautiful big house
The photos dont do this place justice....so much space and although there are rocks to get down to the beach it was no problem for me my husband or my 2 and 3 year old.
family getaway (7 adults)
We had a fantastic time this past week. It had everything we needed. Easy walk to Roberts Pier and General Store. Loved the deck to sit and watch the ocean. House was bright and beds were very comfortable. Would recommend!
Overall great stay!
We had a great time. The house it’s self is nicer than the pictures. Plenty of room and the view is amazing! Lots of yard for the kids to run around on. The neighbours are friendly. We enjoyed picking up fresh fish, veggies and bread at the market. Overall a really nice stay and we should have booked an extra night. The only thing that stood out as a negative is that the listing led us to believe the sandy beach was in front of the house and easy to get to. It’s not and can be a challenge to navigate down the big and small rocks with school aged children. This being said we would stay here again.
Hi Rebecca-thanks so much for the review; I’m glad to hear you had such a great time! I promise you, the sandy beach is there! You were with us for such a quick visit, maybe the tide schedule didn’t mesh well with your plans. But yes, along with the sand, there are a ton of small rocks on the beach as well as larger boulders right along the southern edge of all the properties along this beach for the purposes of storm protection. Care with small children and the elderly is a must. I tried to show that in the photos on the listing but maybe I need to work on my photography skills! Thanks again for being our guest; we’ll look forward to seeing you again.
