Terrible customer service and we didn’t get the rooms we booked.
I am not at all impressed with Taurus Place or the owner. Despite emailing the owner repeatedly with questions before our arrival, I never once got a response.
When we arrived on site, there was no one to greet us or give us keys. We finally managed to get one of the other lodgers to give us her cell phone number and we got ahold of her. She was out of the country and hadn’t arranged anything for us. She had her son come meet us several hours later with keys.
When he arrived he put us in a cottage. This is NOT what I booked. I specifically booked the king and twin rooms as my husband and I were traveling with our 2 children. The cottage clearly states that it is for a maximum of 2 people. We had to put one child on the pull out sofa and the other child on the floor.
It was too late at night by the time we got in to find another place to stay. We stayed 3 nights. We didn’t have hot water until the last night. Nobody had turned on the hot water heater. We had to figure out where it was and how to turn it on. There were no instructions telling us this was our responsibility or how to do it. It was very frustrating to have only cold water for bathing or washing dishes.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. While it was in a nice and safe location in the Cape Town area, it is not worth the hassle. Don’t bother.
The owner didn’t apologize for putting us in the wrong accommodations. Neither did she offer to reimburse us any money. There were other lodgers in the rooms we had booked. So I guess she didn’t care if we were happy or not because she had other people staying there.
Thank you for your review. It is obviously not the kind of review that I as a home owner likes to receive, however it is valued. I did apologize telephonically when we spoke which you did not indicate. I did try my best to rectify this misunderstanding. The error was made by my housekeeper as she put the wrong guests in the units you required. As I was overseas I could not sort this out there and then. You did stay in the cottage at no cost for three nights until you were able to find alternative accommodation. I did not receive any money from you so could not re-imburse any funds. I have never had a review like yours in the 19 years I have been in business!! My sincere apologies once again for the misunderstanding and inconvenience caused.
