Staying at Paradise Villa was great for our time in Barbados! We came during Cropover and had an amazing vacation. Donna and Henderson were very helpful during our stay whenever we needed anything. They got a taxi to pick us up from the airport, which was very nice. It was a really nice house and very spacious. The welcome basket with foods was also a great and thoughtful addition. I would recommend this home to anyone!!! Thank you :)
It was a great pleasure hosting Samantha & Family. They were pleasant, and great to communicate with. They treated our villa with respect as if it was theirs, and left everything just as they found them.
Our intent was to make their Crop Over holiday a very wonderful one and are glad that they enjoyed themselves.
We definitely welcome them to return to our villa again, they are the kind of guest to stay at anyone's vacation home.
We wish them the best.
23 Paradise Villa.
We had a wonderful week's stay- very convenient location as it turned out that the conference meetings were held at the UWI's Errol Barrow Centre at the end of Walton road, and so we were just 5 minutes walking distance to it. Cooking in the kitchen was a breeze with the modern facilities - stove, refridgerator, oven, microwave, and also because of its spaciousness. The efficient modern laundary facilities were also well appreciated, allowing me not to have to return home with a bunch of dirty clothing.. The living and dining rooms areas are more spacious than what the photos suggest, and we also used the pub table on the outside patio for dining and conversing at night. The shower in the master bedroom suite was also wonderful- spaciousness and the jets were enjoyable. Just a minor drainage issue which was immediately dealt with once reported..
A couple of things I would suggest- a bedside lamp or two in the two other bedrooms, and a chest of drawers in each. Also a mop to use to wipe the kitchen floor. Occassionally we were using the paper towels.
We really apreciated the ample and varied fruit basket and wine, and the other food items (eggs, bread, milk, juice, butter, cheese) that were there for our arrival to tide us over to the next day when we were able to shop for supplies for the week. And Tilly Taxi was great- very professional.
The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly, and the chickens strollling onto the lawn in the afternoon was lovely to watch.
Thanks again to Donna and Henderson for their hospitality. We surely would recommend Paradise Villa for an extended visit to the Cave Hill campus or the Archives, located just down the hill from the Villa.
So much more than a rental property, Paradise Villa is outstanding in so many ways and we cannot recommend it more highly. A well equipped, high specification kitchen and excellent gas outdoor BBQ were perfect if you want to eat at home. There is a lovely covered terrace where we had all our meals, and where one day we were visited by a troop of monkeys! Although the view is partially obscured by an apartment, it was stunning watching the sun sink over the sea. The residential location, by the University, is ideal for access to Bridgetown, only a short drive away in one direction and the exclusive west coast resort of Holetown, with its upmarket restaurants, shops and golf courses is about 15 mins drive in the other direction. Our favourite beach, Batts Rock, is a very short drive or a 20min walk away, if you take the short cut down the steps and past the sports stadium. It would take a little longer on the way back as it's all uphill! This nearby stadium is very well used during the day at this time of year as the primary schools are having their sports days.
You could walk to various fast food outlets locally, but we needed to drive to find good restaurants. We liked Cariba and the Beach House, both mid priced restaurants near Holetown. A car is not essential as there are good bus routes nearby. There is a good supermarket at Black Rock and a huge Macy's at Warren's where you could get everything you need. Both provide shuttle bus services for a small fee, so again, a car is not required. The fish markets in Bridgetown and Payne's beach offer fresh fish.
What was really outstanding was the exceptionally warm welcome we received from Clovine, who cleaned, looked after us and was a mine of useful information. The quality of the welcome pack was unexpected and very much appreciated. Clovine genuinely wanted to ensure we had the best time - and we did. She immediately provided a few little things we asked about. It was sad saying goodbye to her. The owners, Donna and Henderson were also attentive and responsive. We asked about a larger table so we could eat outside comfortably, and within a couple of days, an excellent suite of table and chairs arrived!
We have stayed in many villas but without a doubt, the care, concern and responsiveness of Clovine, Donna and Henderson was second to none. Bajan hospitality at its best. So a huge thank you to you all for making our holiday so very special and we hope to visit Paradise Villa again soon.
