Well equipped character barn in a stunning location

We stayed here with 2 small children for over a week and had a wonderful time. The barn has a lovely open plan living space with a very well equipped kitchen and was easy to live in. We hosted a few friends whilst we stayed too, and one day had 10 adults with 9 young children racing around the grounds outside; all commented on what a great place it was and with the doors open onto the garden it didn't once feel crowded.

The local shop is within a five minute walk and has most basics, with bigger supermarkets and shops within a few minutes drive.

The local area is stunning, although as the barn is in a small village along many narrow country roads it can take a while to drive to places. Lots of footpaths and countryside to explore though right on the doorstep if you don't want to travel too far.

The only issue we had during our stay was that the beds in both the downstairs bedrooms all seemed to be less than full size single beds. They were fine for children but only just about ok for tall adults, so if you plan to use the downstairs bedrooms be aware of this. The Double bed upstairs is fine.

Other than that I'd recommend fully for a relaxing break and would happily go back again.

Réponse du propriétaire: Richard, Caroline and family really seemed to enjoy their stay. They took full advantage of the real upsides that comes with the generous reception area that the beautifully restored barn offers together with the stunning outdoor space. Their friends and family loved just being in the barn and garden. In spite of that, they explored the Surrey Hills, recently declared an area of outstanding natural beauty. I recommended the local pubs that have excellent food and an enclosed garden, suitable for young children. The family also took their children to the village children's playground, which is just a short five minute stroll. They are a nice family to have stay. We would be pleased to see them return.

Nice and comfortable cottage

Really enjoyed staying here with my family. A nice and spacious cottage. Our welcome from the owner was superb!! He even supplied the first basic needs in the refrigerator. As a very nice gesture a vase with beautiful fresh flowers had been put into the cottage upon our arrival.

We very much would like to return in the near future.

Lovely house/barn

The house/barn was lovely and had everything we needed. Since it is not near a busy road and lots of open space , made it a safe place for the kids to run outside.Location was great. Within a short walk was a great playground for young children. The next village was easily gotten to by walking the 2 miles or taking the bus. Lots to do for kids in Cranleigh.

Réponse du propriétaire: Carol and family came to UK from USA to attend a course. The grandparents looked after their children in the refurbished period barn whilst the parents studied hard. They took full advantage of the local walks in the Surrey Hills and our local facilities including local pubs with enclosed children friendly gardens. The children used the local swimming and gym facilities. They all loved the beautiful rural location and they took full advantage of the open plan layout of the barn. They were a great family to have as guests, and we hope we may see them again.

Réponse du propriétaire: Suzanne, family and friends took full advantage of the local gems hidden in the beautiful Surrey Hills. They loved Shere, which is a truly picturesque village with shops, tea shop and really English pubs, as well as a lovely spot for children to feed the ducks. They also visited Denbies Winery, where you can have a tour of the wine making facilities and enjoy tasting prize-winning UK wines. The winery also offers full lunches or tea and cakes. The whole family loved the barn which has a huge outdoor space surrounded by country walks and a plentiful supply of local pubs with enclosed gardens. Thanks for staying with us Suzanne and co. We look forward to seeing you next time.
