Notre chalet est situé dans le coeur du centre ville de Natchez, mais se trouve au bout d'une route de gravier très privé entouré de cinq acres de propriété. L'intérieur est moderne avec toutes les commodités pour rendre votre séjour confortable. Il ya une grande terrasse en plein air qui entoure tout le côté et à l'arrière de la maison pour se détendre à l'extérieur. Vous êtes à distance de marche des restaurants, des magasins et des maisons d'avant-guerre.

Amazing place!

Mom and I had an absolutely perfect stay at this wonderful, charming cottage! Our hosts, Britton and Jimmy, could not have been more delightful! Place was spotless and comfy cozy! We enjoyed the home baked treats, too! The dogs and puppies were just the icing on our perfect stay! Thank you both for being so warm and kind! Hightky recommend!!

Always please thank your mama for gifting me the nice photo book of antebellum homes in Mississippi. I will share it with other renters. The big dogs have gone for a run with Jimmy and the little dogs are holding the fort down. There is nothing like a puppy, is there! Know you are always welcome back. Natchez is beautiful in the spring of the year so keep us on your list. And, so glad that you all enjoyed your stay.

We were really impressed with how well kept the property was! The home owners were so nice and accommodating and the chicken coop cottage was super clean! We will definitely be back for another stay!!!

Your Perfect Natchez Hideaway

I wish I could keep this place a secret. It's that good. A friend and I came to Natchez for a few days and our stay at the Chicken Coop Cottage was wonderful. Britton and James are lovely hosts and after 2 1/2 hours of driving from New Orleans, had cold drinks and fresh cookies waiting for us. (There were more in the freezer.) Britton also provided the ideal recommendation for dinner (Pearl Street Pasta), less than a 10 minute walk away.

The cottage sits on a quiet cul-de-sac in a safe neighborhood. We would walk in the morning and in the evening to downtown Natchez for coffee or dinner. The bedrooms are opposite each other, connected by a jack-and-jill bathroom with two vanities, so there's no competition for counter space. The kitchen is bright and spacious, so if you decide to dine in, there's plenty of prep room. The deck overlooks a lush grass and woods, and if you're lucky, you may see a deer or two. The living room is comfortable, and the Adirondack chairs on the front porch provide a nice place to read or just relax in the shade.

Britton and James take wonderful care of the Chicken Coop. Everything was as described, spotless, and if we needed anything, they were only a text away. Parking is just opposite of the walkway; loading and unloading was easy.

If you prefer to drive, the cottage is less than 5 minutes from the Natchez visitor center, where you can purchase tickets to the several antebellum homes in the area and learn about other nearby activities. We visited Rosalie, Longwood, and Stanton Hall (Day 1); and D'Evereux, Brandon Hall, and Sweet Auburn (Day 2; Fall Pilgrimage). If you visit Sweet Auburn, take 10 minutes to drive across Hwy 61 and see Jefferson College, which was founded in 1802.

If you are not locked into dates for your visit, consider timing your trip to the Spring or Fall Pilgrimage, when privately-owned houses that are closed most of the year open their doors. You can learn more here: http://www.natchezpilgrimage.com/.

We started our days at the Natchez Coffee Company or Steampunk Coffee, and recommend both. We took in an evening at the community theater and in addition to Pearl Street, enjoyed great fare at King's Tavern and Fat Mama's (get the Cuban). Planet Thailand and 1818 were fine, but in hindsight would have tried Pig Out BBQ and Cotton Alley instead.

As I mentioned, I also really appreciated your leaving the Chicken Coop so neat. Jimmy said I am a neat freak but you can't have a rental house too clean as far as I am concerned. Our little new born puppies will be moving to their new house in the lower yard next week. They will be missed but they grow up fast and need more room. Loved it.

The Chicken Coop was the perfect place for us. The location was in the historic district behind some antibellam homes away from traffic noise. The adorable cottage was very quiet and comfortable with a relaxing setting. Just perfect for getting away from the hectic pace of daily life. The host family was so warm and friendly it felt like visiting family. We could not have chosen a better place.

Very nice people. It was peaceful and comfortable. I don't think We have stayed anywhere more convenient to the sites or more clean and in order. Everything you could possibly need is here. We throughly enjoyed our stay.
