The perfect spot

The house and grounds exceeded our expectations. It is located in a beautiful setting and the perfect size for six people. It was beautifully clean and very well equipped. We were lucky with the weather and used the pool everyday. It's really big and like the house, well maintained. We had great fun sitting around it in the sunloungers. The view from the house is amazing and we loved having supper on the terrace enjoying the sunsets over the valley. In fact, we ate all our meals outside and made good use of the barbecue!

The caretaker lives close by and was extremely friendly and helpful. Although there are two other houses on the property, the layout is so well designed and landscaped that we were hardly aware of our neighbours.

It's a great base to explore the area - we went to see the historic cave paintings at Rouffignac and would really recommend this. You have to arrive early in peak season though! We fell in love with Aubeterre and made several visits there. Brantome was also lovely to visit and St Emilion a must!! Canoeing and cycling are other great activities though we will do these the next time we visit. We did play tennis every day in the court in the nearby village.

All in all we had a wonderful time and can't recommend this property highly enough.

What a fantastic property!

10/10. Fantastic property and would recommend to anyone. Highlights were the large pool, amazing views across the fields from the pool and terrace area, loved evening meals on the terrace from the BBQ. No better way to watch the sun go down with a glass of vin rouge. Internally the property was spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. Will definitely be coming back! 😃

A special place

We love this area of France, close to Riberac and a number of interesting villages. The gite is charming, well equipped and comfortable with its own private garden and pool with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside in a quiet rural location. Ideal for exploring or just relaxing on the terrace. This was our second visit and it did not disappoint.

Lovely House in Lovely position

The property was of a very high standard with excellent fixtures and fittings and beautifully clean. We loved the view and also the little villages around with some fun markets. Had a great time and will definitely be back.

Houghton le Spring

Perfect Relaxing Getaway

Les Lavandes is a perfect retreat from a busy lifestyle. It is only a few minutes drive from the nearest village, but far enough away to feel perfectly secluded. The villa is one of three on a small development surrounded by farmland, however the size of the garden and the orientation of the property mean you hardly notice you have neighbours. The property exceeded our expectations - the photographs on the website don't do justice to how lovely it really is. It is equipped with everything you could possibly need and was beautifully clean; the pool in particular was the cleanest and safest I have ever come across. If you like a holiday with bars, shops and entertainment within walking distance this is not the one for you. However, if you crave peace, tranquillity and relaxation you couldn't do better. The only sounds while sunbathing are the birds and the occasional turn of a page and you can't help but sleep in way past your usual getting up time. We thoroughly enjoyed our family holiday at Les Lavandes and will most definitely return.

Relaxing, pituresque, peaceful, luxury

It was a fuss free arrrival and when we walked through the door the 3 bed house was very presentable, clean and comfortable. There is a good sized kitchen, large fridge/ freezer and very spacious living and dining area. There is a TV with UK channels 1-5 and board games.

Bedrooms are spacious with very comfy beds and with plenty of storage and air conditioning throughout.

The outdoor space at the rear of the property was delightful - The terrace is large and the views are spectacular - field after field of sunflowers. There is a swimming pool which was extremely well used and plenty of chairs/ sunloungers.

There are plenty of great things to do and we went to Aubeterre which has a beautiful sqauare with cafes, shops and restuarants. You can also kayak there. We went to Riberac which had a fanatastic market selling hot and cold food/ clothes and everything in between! Brantome is a must see with an amazing monestry, river (with kayaks), pretty bridges lots of nice restaurants.

Whether you laze around the pool or get out to the various towns/ villages you will have a great time. I will definatley be recommending Les Lavendes to friends and family.
