Great place if you like the water. Very homey. Very clean and safe. Going again next year .
I did notice the pillows were flat. I,think they could be replaced.
Paradise & tranquility in the big city
The houseboat was perfect! Compact, but spacious enough. Impeccably clean & well stocked (I especially appreciated the Keurig for morning coffee!). The furnishings are slightly dated, but comfortable & there were lots of super plush towels and extra linens. Ideally located in the Old City neighbourhood for walking & close to transit. Having parking included was a bonus & we didn't need to drive anywhere! Although comments were made about the marine toilet, we had no issues - follow the instructions given or use the bathroom in the marina. Jack was incredibly helpful. He waited for us without complaint even though we were quite late due to traffic. He was helpful with suggestions for things to do & followed up with us during our stay to let us know about fireworks and free concerts over the week-end. The marina community was lovely - they knew the houseboat was a rental and they asked how we were enjoying our stay & offered recommendations for restaurants & things to do. Although we were right in the heart of things, it was quite and peaceful & I especially enjoyed early morning sunrises with my coffee on the cute little deck. We ended most evenings here as well as it was a quiet reprieve from the hustle of the big city. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.
Location, Location, Location
Comfortable, reasonable price, and great location in terms of proximity to old town Philadelphia. The problem was the toilet as noted by other guests too.
A Relaxing Weekend Getaway!!
My husband and I were looking for a relaxing place to put our feet up for the weekend. Neither of us wanted to be cooped up in a hotel room; we wanted outside space to sit and drink coffee in the morning and a something stronger at the end of the day. This houseboat suited us perfectly. It was close enough to the old city that we could walk over and grab a bite to eat, but far enough out of the hustle and bustle to truly feel relaxing. We napped on the lounge chairs on the upper deck, sat on the picnic table at the end of the dock and watched the boats go by, and chatted with marina neighbors while we were sitting on the lower deck. All in all, I think we were only inside long enough to sleep and shower. Jack provided the Keurig and enough cups for multiple cups of coffee, we didn't really need to bring a thing except our own beverages and snacks. The marina was tricky to find the first time, but Jack met us outside and showed us the ins and outs. We appreciated that he took the time to answer our questions, point out some local places to eat and made sure we understood about the marine toilet. This was a great experience, and if we're ever going to be passing through Philly again and need a weekend getaway, we would definitely book this again.
We had a wonderful stay. The houseboat was perfect, Jack was very helpful too. Highly recommend, you wont be disappointed!
