It was a great place and was fun to stay in a old 50’s style with so much history! Everything was easy to take care of. Mari was super helpful with any questions. We will be back next year.
Respite from the world
We truly love staying at this low-key home and every new, over-the-top, house being built reinforces how special it is and how lucky we are the owners share it with guests.
Wrightsville Beach is our favorite vacation every year, and we love visiting old spots and new ones. Sunday’s Coffee and the Surf Shop below it are must do’s along with Tower 7 and Robert’s Grocery Store. There are just enough beach toys under the stairs to keep kiddos occupied in the sand. We also bring hand nets, a fishing-rod and beach chairs/towels. The channel and beach are a very easy walk, as is the point with its bird sanctuary. We enjoyed the adult bikes and brought razor scooters for our kids. Skateboards would have been fun too if we had had room! The street is generally very quiet and a great place for kids to ride around. There was construction on a new house nearby, which was a bummer, but it looks like it’s wrapping-up. As always, we were very sad to leave and wished we had more time!
Wonderful week at the beach cottage!
Our 3-generation family had a wonderful week at Mari's cottage...our first time staying on the South End of the beach. With parking allowed in driveways but not on the street, our grandchildren spent hours playing on the quiet street and loved the neighborhood concept. There are two public accesses to the Waterway and a SHORT walk to the ocean. Mari was an attentive host and we loved the cozy mid-century house. We hope to return for another visit.
Lovely classic beach cottage
Our family of four loved Mari’s place!
It’s less than a half a block walk to the public waterway access. We put our boards in almost everyday. There are many places to explore via kayak or SUP.
The walk to the beach was easy. Traffic is slower on the south end so our 11 year old went back and forth as he wanted-never worried about him.
The house has everything you need. There is NO TV-awesome. I almost wish there had been no WiFi—then it would have been a very old school beach vacay!
The kitchen is well stocked. There was nothing that I felt I needed but didn’t have. There are plenty of towels and extra blankets.
The twin room is stocked to the gills with games and puzzles.
This is a quiet neighborhood. If you’re looking for people watching and crowds, this is not it. We met the downstairs neighbor and she was super nice!
There is coffee/bar and restaurant within walking distance.
I would stay at Mari’s place anytime. It’s everything you need and a break from things that you don’t. Thanks for sharing your awesome home!
Fun Family Stay on the Sound
My family had a wonderful stay at the vintage cottage on the sound. The decor was cool and funky and the house was stocked with everything a renter would need to have a comfortable and easy week. The cabinets were stocked with little things that you need when you travel so we didn't have to buy hundreds of dollars worth of little odds and ends. The puzzles, books and games were all enjoyed. The beds were super comfortable and the linens were especially nice. These little touches make staying in someone else's home so much easier. We had wonderful thunderstorms off and on all week and the deck was a great place to sit and enjoy those. The beach was close by and easy to walk to. Mari was so welcoming and helpful and even mailed a shoe that my son left behind! I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to other families.
Great location for nature lovers!
This cute cottage accommodated my husband, me and our four grandchildren and a couple of other visitors during the week very comfortably. We loved the front porch overlooking the Intercoastal Waterway and swimming in the waterway as well. The kitchen could use some updating especially the old stove. But for cooking and eating the kitchen had everything we needed. There are plenty of games and puzzles. Suggest you bring your own TV and firestick and music system in case you have rain which we had plenty of all week. We enjoyed riding the beach bikes that come with the house and walking to Masonboro Inlet. It's annoying to have to go inside at 10 at night because the neighbor can hear you talking even softly, but not sure what can be done about that.
