Great location with amazing view
This was my second time staying at Casa Las Brisas. I went down with a group of guys to play golf. It's a great location and has a terrific view. There are some really good restaurants right in Flamingo and one night we got some uncooked ribs from a BBQ place and grilled them on the Weber by the pool at the house. The upstairs bar was where we watched the sunset every evening. It's a great house and I'll stay there again the next time we go.
Those ribs from The Smoking Pig are fantastic; glad to hear you were able to buy some from them to grill at the house. Sounds like you guys had a great time and happy you plan on staying here again!
Beautiful property, stellar location, great hosts
We stayed at Casa Las Brisas for a week in July, and this property could not have been any better: great location, unbelievable views, comfortable, nicely decorated. It was the perfect retreat for our family vacation. From the moment we first contacted her, the owner was highly attentive about every detail of our stay, including personal requests and hints about local activities. Extremely well maintained property in the ideal neighborhood in Flamingo. We would recommend Casa Las Brisas to anyone looking for a perfect Costa Rican oasis.
it was a pleasure talking with you several times when you were planning your family vacation and I'm so glad you all had a great time. I love sharing our slice of paradise and hope you return again.
My daughter and I were traveling through Costa Rica and knew we made the right decision to join our friends here from the second we parked our car. The view from the driveway is spectacular. The property is perched high the charming town of Flamingo. The views are just breathtaking....triggering on my relaxed vacation mode. Large kitchen with all the supplies you need to create fantastic meals. Love the pool-side grill. The pool is clean and the perfect temperature. My daughter and I shared a room with two double beds. It was comfortable and well appointed. In the morning, millions of colorful butterflies put on a show in a tree outside our room. Next to the kitchen is a large table and comfortable living room. Comfortable and spacious layout. The owner gave us great, helpful suggestions....like a small SUV rental instead of a little car. At her suggestion we went diving nearby and saw white tip sharks and huge rays. The amazing beach is very close. My daughter learned how to surf in Tamarindo...another short drive away. Then we took a road trip to Arenal Volcano and went zip lining, white water rafting and played in a huge waterfall. The private home and all the wonderful travel suggestions made this trip far more wonderful that we expected. Thank you!!!
It sounds like you two took advantage of so much that Costa Rica has to offer, had some remarkable adventures and have great memories to share. Glad our recommendations were helpful! Happy to hear how much you enjoyed staying at our home and hope you plan a return visit.
Over Rated, Over priced, Lots of issues!!
Upon check in, the entire house was hot, humid and musty- it took several hours for the rooms to cool, especially the upstairs master, which took over 6 hours-maybe by 1am it was ok.
Sheets were musty, not changed since the last stay, several weeks we found out later. Mgmt co. wanted to charge us to come change the sheets.
Terrible sewer smell inside the bathroom downstairs, and outside where you park the car. Really bad.
Phone lines down the entire week, after we informed the local management company several times.
No one showed us how to use the alarm or told us the maids would activate it. After returning from a 6 hour trip, the alarm went off as we entered. No one returned our calls made or came to check on why it went off. Probably made 10 phone calls to answering message services. (cell phone bill was almost $100 extra). Had to call the owner in the US to get it turned off.
After the alarm went off and no one came, (no police, no alarm company, no management co) my teenage girls and my wife were a little concerned about security, especially sleeping at night. It was a little unnerving, I have to admit. We travel all over the world, and I have never had to address this with them before.
Cushions on furniture stained.
Screen above kitchen sink off...looks like someone trying to break in (thats what my wife and girls said)
Slide doors don't work...one maybe ok, most not at all.
One roll of TP per bath is a little minimalist. And the management co didn't want to provide any more. At this nightly rate? What a joke.
Many ceiling tiles are removed, cut, most tiles that are there are water stained. It just looks terrible, dirty, unfinished.
Master bath mats were dirty and stained, not cleaned
Blood on extra pillow in closet in master upstairs. No extra pillow cases upstairs.
The shower pressure so low you have to stand under it, but the shower head is so clogged with calcium build up, it's a wonder any water comes out. So easy to clean if you keep up with it, it will need to be replaced more than likely now.
Much of the House furniture is old, dated and uncomfortable. Walls are beat up and need painting.
For what you pay for the week, I was expecting more than what we received. After communicating with the owner for several weeks, she reluctantly refunded $250. My cell phone bill having to deal with all of the problems was almost $100! Don't count on the management company to help either. They actually defended their services to the owner.
Sigh...your attempt to trash my gorgeous, lovely home on every site continues. It's must be so hard to type these diatribes with such small hands. I would refute each of your endless, petty complaints but I actually have a life. I have spent hours speaking with you on the phone and thoughtfully addressing your lengthy emails. You only want "great deals" and you threaten and badger. One renter read your brutal comments and told me they hoped you used the money you extorted from me to seek therapy for you and your family that actually have to deal with you daily. Everyone can see how transparent your efforts to destroy me are. Sad.
This was our first trip to Costa Rica and it was AMAZING! This home was perfect! I couldn't of been happier when we stepped in the doors and this was also our first experience with Home Away. The home has 4 bedrooms and two are Master bedrooms. One Master is separate from the other three bedrooms and this worked out great for our family guests. The home was very clean and very spacious. The kitchen was wonderful and very well stocked. I have two young children and eating out every meal is impossible. We enjoyed several meals at home and cooked on the outside grill. The pool was perfect and kept my 4 & 6 year old entertained bright and early and after our daily excursions. The concierge that came with the house was also very helpful. I booked everything from day trips to back and forth from the airport and every reservation was taken care of. The homeowner recommended several trips and we did all of them since we spent two weeks. We went to the Rainforest, Hot Springs, River boat tour, Waterfalls, Zip lining, horse back riding and 4-wheeling! I would recommend this property to friends and relatives. The kitchen, beautiful views, pool, space and concierge made this trip very comfortable. Pura Vida!
We loved everything about our stay at Casa las Brisas. Incredible views of the Pacific Ocean and you cannot beat the sunsets. The house itself is beautiful, well equipped, and comfortable. Many lazy mornings (and late evenings) were spent by the outdoor bar on the second floor master suite. No better place to unwind!
Great pool and we really enjoyed being able to grill out in the outdoor kitchen. Owners had a great book with local recommendations and were also generous with advice via email before we arrived, all of which we followed to a T and we credit our wonderful vacation to.
Flamingo and its surrounding villages have really great restaurants. Definitely no shortage of good food and drink in CR! Locals are friendly, helpful, and proud of their country. We will certainly be back and would recommend this country and house to anyone visiting.
Happy to have been a help in recommending favorite restaurants and activities for you to enjoy and so glad to hear how much you loved Flamingo and our home. We look forward to welcoming you back again sometime!
