A lovely retreat
We enjoyed our time at the camp. We had everything we needed. It was nicely decorated, well-equipped and the dock was divine. Although we had some foul weather, We had several walk abouts and some starry nights.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for being such courteous guests! The dock. The walks. The starry nights. We know just what you are talking about!
Place was great!
Cabin was awesome and just went through a recent renovation! Refinished floors, new windows, a new master bedroom and two built in AC units (a huge hit with my 7 month pregnant wife!) We had a great time and John was attentive to any question we had. Highly recommend to all!
Thank you for leaving your review. We are excited The Wicked Cute Camp could be part of your journey to parenthood! Thank you for your input during the week and for the pics and videos (Readers - watch for some of them to be added to the VRBO and facebook pages soon!).
All the Best!
John and Susie
Attention to every detail!
If I could give John and Susie 10 stars I would. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay or such hospitable hosts. Camp is beautiful. Just renovated. Lake is beautiful. When I say attention to every detail, you have to stay here to see what I mean. I could go on and on but I don’t have the time to! Just take it from me when I say your hosts go out of their way to make you feel welcome. There is nothing you need that isn’t in the cabin already except lobster, and that’s just down the road! Thank you again! We will be back!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. And we are so glad The Wicked Cute Camp and Norton Pond worked their magic for you!
As one of the first guests to see the camp after the renovations we are excited to hear you love them as much as we do. And we appreciate your input during the week as well!
With The Wicked Cute Camp being built in the 1940's (making it 70 plus years old), it was time to get it ready for the next 70 years. Our goal was to keep it true to its vintage roots and 'wicked cuteness' while adding in a few of the perks of 21st century living.
Looking forward to having you all back!
John and Susie.
The cabin is adorable and the area of the pond is perfect - only gentle waves while we were there and lots of opportunity to explore the attached lake. We brought a paddle board and had a great time on it every day. The only drawback is there's no gentle entry into the lake for our dog - he could have jumped in off the dock but didn't have anywhere to easily climb out.
cozy relaxing retreat
the cottage was just like in the pictures. Cute, cozy, rustic cottage feel on a beautiful calm lake. my husband and I enjoyed our morning coffee sitting on the dock in comfy chairs in the morning sun. The lake was big enough for water sports but was not busy and it was not buggy even being surrounded by woods. went to Camden, great variety of shops and took a cruise on the Appledore. Ate at Chez Michel-great seafood and primerib, Waterfront has great chowder, SeaDog brewery- great fish tacos and good food selection. mt. Battie has a great view and hiking trails. Acadia is worth the hour and half drive but get there early as it's a busy place. stopped off in Bar Harbor for lunch. every detail was thought of in this cottage. cooked on the grill and evening campfires. Loved the great view of the lake looking out from the cabin. so relaxing and would stay here again. can hear the unique sound of the loons at night. very peaceful and a great place to unwind.
It doesn't get any better than this!
My husband and I just spent a hugely enjoyable and idyllic week at the Wicked Cute Cabin on Norton Pond! We went kayaking right from our own private dock, we swam off the dock in the refreshing water, we gazed at stars from the chairs on the dock (you can see the Milky Way spread across the expanse of the sky!) while listening to the call of the loons and watching the lights from neighboring cabins twinkle on the water. We sat in the chairs under the shade of the trees enjoying the silence and beauty of the lake. We were there during the 4th of July celebrations and enjoyed private "surround sound" fireworks that echoed around the lake. The view of the fireworks from the middle of the lake was awesome! We invited friends and family for an evening barbecue at the outdoor picnic table and later toasted marshmallows to make s'mores around the campfire. One of our daughters and her husband joined us at the cabin for two nights. There was lots of space for all of us and our two dogs. The cabin is cozy, the beds comfortable, with all the conveniences of home. The kitchen is fully outfitted and got all the groceries we needed from the stores in Camden. There's lots to see and visit in the area, although it was hard to tear ourselves away from the lake and our cozy cottage. My husband went on hikes with our dog only a few miles from the cabin. We took a day trip to Acadia for lunch, a hike, and dinner. You won't find a better, more relaxing, or fun vacation spot than this! We'll be back!
