Fabulous Historic Plymouth
Great house for getting a taste of historic Plymouth! Around the corner from a lovely path to Plymouth Rock, minutes from shopping and driving distance from landmarks up and down the coast. We loved our stay in such a treasure of a house!
A real gem for being 400 years old
The house and property are as advertised. The two main bathrooms are remodeled and in great shape. They for sure don't feel like you are in that old of a house. The backyard is right up on a brook and the mill. There are some great walking paths that take you over to the harbor. We walked everyday. Frankly, Plymouth is a walking town more than anything else. I'm 6'2 so I'd warn you that this old of a house is not made for someone my height. I spent my time in the house slightly hunched over to avoid banging my head. That's just part of the character of the property.
My only headache was the parking. You for sure can't get two regular sized cars parked in the driveway so if you are bringing two be warned. You can park on the street but we had a couple of nights where all of the parking across the street was full so we parked a couple of blocks away and walked. Not a huge deal but the street the house is on is very busy so if you have little kids be aware of that.
I hope they've updated the listing to show the new state sales tax that is on the property. We booked this just as it was going into effect so I had to pay an extra $400 that wasn't in the listing. Not a huge deal but I hope that has been put into here so you are not surprised by it.
The owner is very easy to deal with. Everything was as advertised and we had no issues getting in or with anything in the house.
Historical and unique
Our extended family of ten (six adults and four children) enjoyed this unique historical house in the heart of Plymouth. We couldn't easily all fit in the same room at once for a meal, but the house has many small rooms and a generous outdoor space, so we managed easily. We liked being able to walk to many historical places of interest, as well as local eateries and stores. Thanks Robin!
This rental property is a must see and stay. We had so much fun exploring. Everyday we found something in the house we did not see the day before. Very comfortable and cozy. The backyard is very relaxing and surreal. Walking distance to downtown Plymouth, shopping, restaurants, and sightseeing was a major plus. Robin was very easy to work with and accommodating. Love, Love, love this rental. The Phoenix Family
