The location of the property is great as we were able to easily get around town in a reasonable time. The two bedrooms were a great size. The bathroom and the kitchen were clean and nicely organized. The only down side is that the living room couches were not in the best of shape. They were dirty, and we were not comfortable using them. Other than that, great apartment! Totally recommend to rent.
Great apartment and wonderful location in lovely neighborhood
We thought the apt we stayed in up in Quebec City was good, but staying here made us realize how much better things can be — especially for a family of four!
-location location location — nice quiet block, close to a playground for the kids and to wonderful cafes and parks and restaurants.
-host is responsive
-apartment is on the first floor and has a nice kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, patio, sitting room, washer/dryer and air conditioning.
CONs (these are relartively minor and mostly just suggestions — which I’d make offline, but vrbo, unlike Air BnB, isn’t set up that way)
-there’s no place to eat! Open kitchen/sitting room should be reconfigured; maybe sacrifice one of the sofas and position stools around kitchen island.
-decor is a missed opportunity — could use more/nicer wall hangings, paint and curtains to make the whole place sing and just feel more homey. It’s not disastrously bad, it just could be better.
-Patio furniture is decrepit, uninviting and borderline unusable. With autimn coming, get a nice comfortable, durable set on sale, including an umbrella! And maybe paint the fence, set out some plants and string some cool lights above.
-The little garden in front features a wildly overgrown shrub, blocking the door, and a lot of weeds. It’s bush league! (And kind of a Montreal thing — some people maintain their exteriors well, but many unfortunately do not, even in relatively affluent neighborhoods like this one). Some simple plants, a bunch of mulch or stones, and a little maintenance and the whole place would seem much more professionally managed and welcoming. You could charge more!
-would be great if there were a binder with local suggestions and a small pile of maps and brochures. Many hosts leave that stuff out.
-parking is a little dicey. There are some free spots, but most of them are for local permit holders with stickers. This is a problem throughout Montreal, though, so not much to do about it. Just something to know if you’re driving here. It’s worth the trade-off; bringing or renting a car will allow you to see much more, and I’m not sure if Uber is here yet. (Seems like it might not be.)
These things are all just small quibbles. We’d go back in a heartbeat and would enthusiastically recommend it to friends. If you’re looking for some place cool but quiet, you will have a great time if you stay here!
great location and helpful folks all over. it was a bit dirty and needs a good clean
we liked the location a lot and the kitchen had lots of utensils and lots of extra blankets and towels. but the Kitchen and walls were a bit messy, there was some leftover food spills in the freezer. My wife was unconfortable on the beds as she found them too hard.
the shower was too small.
it is perfect for folks who just need a place to land each night , but as we were travveling with an 8 year old we needed to find a place more set up and clean. TV had only cable and no DVD player.
Good location. Quite neighborhood. Exactly as described. Good communication with owner. Would stay again.
Really enjoyed our stay at Tim's apartment. Location is very central to everything. Loved cruising around on the Bixi bikes. I've never been in such a bike friendly town.
