Picturesque and Incredible
We stayed in this amazing old winery with 4 adults and 2 children. We woke up to the most beautiful view of the mountains and had many afternoons watching the children play in the pool. When you enter the home you come through two massive wooden doors that opens with the most charming key. You continue through the entry way that is peppered with antiques. Going up the brightly lit staircase you come to the level with the sweet eat in kitchen, formal dining, living room and more. There is a ton of space. You can exit this level to the patio and garden that wraps around to the pool area. When you are ready to retire the day you go up to the top level where there are plenty of bedrooms. All the beds were wonderfully comfortable. We all have never slept better. Yes, there were a couple nights were you could hear the motorcycles from the street, but I think you could probably hear them from anywhere. The property manager is a wonderfully kind man who greeted us with fresh tomatoes, peppers from his garden and fresh eggs from his hens. He worked tirelessly to make our stay special and he does the most beautiful restoration work. I can't put into words the amount of charm and character this home offers. You will have to see for yourself.
Wow. Simply amazing place to stay
My family and I (8 of us) hired this beautiful old building for a week. We were utterly astounded when we arrived as the pictures really did not do it justice. We were greeted warmly when we arrived, with the owners showing us around. They did not speak English so I was glad I could converse with them in Spanish!
This building is plenty big enough for a party of 12, and at no time did we get under each others feet.
The accommodation is a short 5-10 minute walk to the nearest town of Alella, with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. It is lovely and quiet (apart from rush hour when the traffic can be heard)
The pool area was lovely. As we were here in April, although the weather was lovely the pool was rather cold! But great for cooling off!
We found the terrace at the back of the house a little cold for eating in the mornings and evenings, due to the fact we were there in April. I should imagine, in the height of summer it would be a welcome break from the sun!
But on the second floor there is a lovely balcony leading from the bedroom which we made a lot of use of! It is a real sun trap during the day! and pleasantly warm in the spring evenings.
The accommodation has literally everything you could want. There was a lot of things provided such as dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, washing liquid, coffee, tea and some few essentials.
Candles were all around the building for our use, and also outside to ward off mozzies!
The beach is about 3km away and a nice walk down to... The train station is also here. It is a bit of a hike back up though as all up hill!!
Would definitely return here and would definitely recommend it.
The only thing negative I have to say is that there is a mandatory cleaning fee of €15 per person per say and a minimum of €209 which was not clear until after we had booked and paid. I would rather it have been included in the original fee, so that budgeting is more transparent. We were also advised that there would be a €15 fee for towels and bed linen, which we were told was included. After raising my concerns, we were advised it was indeed included.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
