Great as described
Thanks for the review, and leaving the cottage very clean and tidy.
Quaint & comfortable.
Great facility, nestled in lovely private grounds in a quiet street but still close to amenities. Two of us stayed three nights for work.
I drew the short straw and slept in one of the single beds but slept very well, comfy sheets and a proper old solid timber bed. Great book collection and a log fire (already made up ready for lighting) made it really cosy. The heat pump is also very effective. Great modern kitchen, ample space.
Minor gripes: I realise it is an old house but the bathroom is definitely not as modern as the kitchen, found the shower pressure a bit anemic, and the hot water took a long time to come through. The only cutlery we used were some of the coffee cups which we found pretty dirty on arrival.
I would say this was made up for by the economical price. If the shower were better I would recommend.
*One caveat, I did not really get to judge the master bedroom.
Thanks for the review. It is a very old house, built, we think, in 1890, with the bathroom added around 1940, so the plumbing takes a convoluted path.
The coffee cups should not have been dirty, apologies.
SUCH A WEE TREASURE!!!
Brookside was absolutely wonderful. We had a completely comfortable stay with anything you would need in this cottage. Beds were wonderful, kitchen was great, log fire so nice, outside garden with a glass of wine!!! What more could you want. We three sisters totally recommend.
Very cute, cosy cottage. Comfortable beds, all amenities good. Watch the driveway as have to drive up the gutter to access the driveway.
Happy that you liked the cottage. We are trying to get a Council authorised firm to modify the driveway (The job is simple, but the process is not!)
