Loved staying at The Crow’s Nest! Everything you need to feel at home is provided for you... comfortable beds, cozy down comforters, kitchen supplies, board games and books.
A great little cottage on a hidden gem of an island. Islesboro is one of our favorite places in ME.
Crow’s Nest is in a great location on the quiet end of the island. Super well equipped, the owners have thought of most everything you could need or want. Nice back deck to bbq and eat/relax on, comfortable beds, and cozy cottage charm. Great for couples and families.
Lovely house on a lovely island
We wanted a true vacation, and we got one! Our family of four (kids 8 and 6) spent a week on Islesboro at Crow’s Nest. The house was well maintained and came with everything you need for a great time. Information was mailed to us before we arrived, and all the highlights and hidden gems of the island are contained in the well-maintained guestbook!
"Watching the time of the world go by..."-R. McCloskey-Time of Wonder
This-- our 6th year at Crow's Nest cottage--a homecoming of sorts. The cottage is a comfortable retreat--a quiet place--for reflection, rest, and relaxation! It is well stocked with the basics and those unique and thoughtful touches that give the place a unique island home feel when you walk in the door. ..even when the electricity went out, due to a passing breezy thunderstorm, the Coleman lanterns and flashlights were available--but only briefly needed, the power was on again soon--we decided to sit on the spacious and inviting deck in the dusk and watch the stars come out and the fireflies glitter across the backyard woods.--we "scheduled our days on island time" --coffee on the deck--pack a picnic, take a book, a guide to wildflowers, a sketchbook, --and choose a trail or a space--we hiked one trail a day--even out the to rocky point near Hutchins Island!
Drench yourself in the island colors of greens, greys, blues, yellows, violets...daisies, butterflies, and birdsong--while stepping across tiny firs or magical ferns at Hinkle Preserve. Then, set a leisure pace back to the cottage for wine on the deck-- from Durkees and a treat or two from the Island Market...a walk over to Meadow Pond as the evening settles into sunset streaks of orange and lavender across the pond.
If you can, go to a Yoga class--the instructor and her class are one of the best classes I have taken, ever! The Community center has art, a bakery, fitness classes and events--check it out!
One particularly rainy day, a family friend who was visiting us joined me at Town Beach (at the southern point) and as our umbrellas were dripping wet, we looked out towards the grey waters in the bay, the air full of salt and pine and the trees surrounding us still--she remarked "Time takes on a different reality here." I could not agree more, if you are looking for a place in time where you can pause and drink in the wonder of earth, sea, sky, water and wood--and the treasure of a day spent in and among them all--then this cottage and the island it rests upon will reset your 'busy schedules". Thank you Dave and Giovanna for your kindness--we will return next year!

Beautiful island, most comfortable cottage!
We had a perfect end-of-summer week at Crow's Nest Cottage. We love the large deck that creates a great outdoor "room" for breakfast, lunch, drinks, supper, and relaxation. The cottage had everything we needed for cooking, relaxing, and comfortable sleeping. We loved eating lobster 2 nights (and 2 lunches) in a row purchased from a neighbor who had just caught those beauties that day! There is nothing like a sweet, fresh from the water, lobster! We swam and beached at Marshall Cove Beach every day, 2 minutes drive from the cottage. The water was marvelously refreshing and wonderfully clear. I took 500 great photos: architecture, beaches, water, sky, water, boats. And one last thing made the week even more memorable: we got to see the solar eclipse - - from our homemade, cereal box, peep box! Islesboro and Crow's Nest Cottage are an unbeatable combination! Can't wait to return!
Great, Relaxing Week on an Island
My family had a fun, relaxing week on Islesboro. We unplugged and got lots of time in with nature and the friendly locals. The Crow's Nest was a home away from home. We loved our vacation.
