Peril in Coconut Grove
The house was clean inside except for the ceiling fans. I do not think they have been dusted in a year or more. The house has a nice layout. The bedrooms and bathrooms are a nice size. The property manager was polite and helpful when there was a leak in the A.C. The outside however, is in serious disrepair. The outside is not maintained at all. The walkway leading to the front door is uneven and broken. An injury occurred while staying here. The property manager was there and acknowledged that this was dangerous. It would be a great place to stay if the outside was taken care of. The back and sides look a bit trashy. We did not even want to park our car in the driveway which is in disrepair as well. There is a reason the front of house is not included in the pictures posted on home away. At this time Home Away is not doing a very good job on addressing the seriousness of the issue we had.

Great house in a area convenient to many restaurants, scenic walks and parks. House is lovely and the layout is perfect for families who want to be together but have privacy too.
Worst Birthday Weekend Ever.
Firstly, if i could give negative stars , there would be no space for the amount of zeros to fit on the screen. Now to the review. we didn't get a chance to enjoy the property we rented because it was infested with flying termites. BecAuse it is a seasonal swarm, the home owners didnt tell us that that could be a possibility and if that information was disclosed to us , we wouldve booked another property accordingly. Due to the infestation of termites, we had to get displaced in a hotel in which we thought was going to be taken care of by the owners of the property. They picked the hotel and said it would equally be the same amount as the property. Come to find out , the hotel charged the people who put their card on file for the incidentals were charged the nights we were there. So now not only did we pay for the rental in full , we were also paying for the hotel as well. So now we lose our money for the weekend and we won't see any refund from either the hotel or the home because it was a weekend and we are in the middle of Miami for a birthday with no moey to spend. Inconvenient. We call Homeaway to explain the situation, they opened a case but there is no resolution. After calling the owner of the property and explaining the money situation, The owner only gave us back the cleaning fee and the deposit. The whole idea of them knowing about a possibility of an infestation and not telling us was and is very unprofessional and inconvenient to us as travelers. This weekend was one from hell and the birthday was ruined due to the fact of a lack of proper communication, misunderstandings and unfortunate events. Will i use Homeaway again? Probably not because if they allow property owners to not disclose information like that to either the travelers or to the company is unprofessional. People in our group has asthma and other respiratoryyu issues , the fumes could have made this trip worse than it already was. Something as simple as giving thr full refund back wouldn't have sufficed due to the stress this caused.
An excellent vacation stay
We loved the place. It is close to the downtown, yet has a country home feel to it. Our one gripe was with the mattress in the kids bed room was a bit too soft, and small flies from all the greenery around the home.
