We had a simply amazing time. Felt like home! So cozy with amazing views. Had everything we needed. Didn’t want to leave and hope to be back!
Outdoors smells better
We've camped since we were kids so we're used to "roughing it".
We knew this wasn't "roughing it" and we knew this wasn't going to be a 3 star hotel, but we still expected the following, but it fell short:
We couldn't get past the "musty" smell.
There were two of us, but only one wash cloth.
There was no soap for the shower.
There were no top sheets.
There was only enough hot water for one person to take a shower.
There were hard boards under the twin beds. We had to sleep on the lower part so it didn't rub our rib cage.
There were no instructions for the TV, took us 30 min to figure it out.
The fridge wasn't cleaned out. There was still a water bottle 1/2 full.
The grill was full of ashes (we would have to clean it before using it).
One of the rules is to wash the dishes before you leave. Really?
After hiking all day, we just wanted to take hot showers and rest comfortably. This was not how we wanted to end a beautiful day.
Location was great but....
Location was great! The property and area were beautiful. Liked the vintage theme of the trailer. It really needs a deep cleaning. Plus the beds were not very comfortable.
Enjoyed our stay.
We loved the vintage trailer, and the attached bunkhouse. We liked the location, feeling secluded, yet close to Mt Rainier. We enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table, playing cards, listening to the old 8-tracks, listening to the river flow. It was a wonderful, cozy 3 night's stay, and would recommend it to friends.
So much potential ...
The setting is without equal - creekside wilderness with electricity! I had hoped the previous 2-star rating was wrong, but ...
1. If a water heater is part of the deal, the water heater has to work. It doesn’t. Cold showers in the forest just don’t cut it.
2. It’s hard to sleep soundly when you have keys to both doors, but neither door will lock (as indicated by previous guests in the guestbook - that was an important hint).
3. “Glamping” is all well and good, but if you charge a $39.00 cleaning fee, the place should be cleaned occasionally - little evidence of that ... at least don’t ask guests to wash the dishes:0
This is not to discount all the pluses: cute as a button, clean mountain air, charming woodland creatures, charming vintage decor. Taken as a whole, it would not be much work to make the place worth the price of a night’s stay - hence the title “So much potential.”
