Great location in sleepy Los Osos
We spent the month of May 2019 in this house in Los Osos. The remodeled house is lovely and very comfortable. The queen bed is especially comfortable; we did not use the two twin beds. The shower (no tub, which we didn't need) was pleasant. It takes a long time for hot water to reach it, but once it does, the temperature stayed steady.
The layout of the house is fine - the dining room looks to the back yard, and the "window" between the kitchen and dining room lets the person in the kitchen see the outdoors, which is nice. The appliances in the kitchen worked well - the only complaint is that the coffee maker is a 5-cup model and we would have liked a more standard 10-12 cup model. There were plenty of good-quality pots, pans, baking dishes, and storage containers. There also were plenty of dishes and silverware so you didn't have to wash everything right away in order to have enough to use. The TV gets a fair number of channels, but no premium channels and isn't set up to stream Amazon Prime, YouTube (or similar networks) - not a hardship for us; just worth noting.
The back yard had been recently landscaped and was waiting for furniture (which I understand is arriving in June). We had brought our own camp chairs and really enjoyed sitting outside when weather permitted.
The location of the house is near Morro Bay and just a short walk to the Sweet Springs Nature Preserve. We enjoy walking so we even walked to the restaurants in Baywood Park - about a half-hour walk from the house (Nardonne's Pizzeria, Baywood Tavern, Back Bay Cafe, Noi's Thai food, La Palapa, and Pagnol Bakery). Starbucks and Ralphs are further, maybe a mile and a half away in the Los Osos business district. Also in that direction are Celia's, Beach Hut Deli, Martin's Mexican, and Hong Kong Chinese - all good places to eat.
Also close to the house (short drives) are wonderful hiking opportunities in Montaña de Oro State Park, Morro Bay State Park, the Elfin Forest, and Los Osos Oaks State Park.
Longer drives took us north to Cambria, State Route 1 (the Pacific Coast Highway), Hearst Castle, the elephant seal hangout and south to Pismo Beach, Avila Beach, and Grover Beach. The towns of Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo are nearby.
All in all, this house was very comfortable and a perfect base for exploring San Luis Obispo County.
