Maison de deux chambres, située sur 780 pieds de rivage privé à l'extrémité sud de Bargain Bay. Les couchers de soleil sont spectaculaires avec vue sur le détroit de Malaspina à l'île de Texada. Des aigles, des phoques, des loutres de rivière et de nombreux oiseaux marins sont observés quotidiennement. L'accès est directement sur l'autoroute avec un parking pour 4 voitures. Espace pour les tentes sur la terrasse inférieure. Le jardin de roche, les étangs et la chute d'eau sont décrits dans notre jardin lunatique, cependant la propriété ne convient pas à ceux avec des défis d'accessibilité. Grande terrasse avec des sièges pour 6 personnes. La propriété a également un hangar à bateaux qui est occupé par le propriétaire.

A kayaker’s dream.
We loved staying at Sunshine Chill and launching our kayaks from the beach/boathouse. It is a very comfortable home with all the amenties you need. The view is incredible.
We had a huge treat of seeing two whales one morning, off towards the island, while sitting in the living room.
Stacy was wonderful in answering all our questions about the area and making us feel welcome.
Lovely, comfortable Sunshine Coast home
Everything at the property was described and our hosts were lovely. We had a very comfortable stay and it is a great spot from which to explore the very best of the Sunshine Coast.
In writing a review of this kind it is always important to distinguish expectations from facts: we had hoped for a complete get away with peace and privacy, but in writing this I need to remind myself that the Sunshine Coast is not the the Canadian wilderness:
1. The property is on the Sunshine Coast Highway so there is some traffic noise.
2. There is a property very close next door (which was occupied for the first night of our stay only, but the location of a party. Our hosts had spoken to the owners before our arrival to manage the impact of this).
3. The boathouse occupied by the owners is the only point of access to the water if you're going down to it and you're not completely alone on the property.
In summary, the home and its facilities are really great. The owners are lovely people and could not have been more hospitable or helpful throughout the process of booking and staying - these are things that I would rate very highly. But, if you are looking for a complete getaway in nature, you may need to look further afield.

Great location / fine facilities but felt surveyed
We have frankly never before felt the need to write a review, but in this case where a VERY few simple adjustments might make the difference between a five star stay and the three stars we awarded - there is an actual likelihood that some lucky future guest - as well as our hosts could reap the benefits of what is intended as nothing but constructive feed-back - regarding 3 points:
1. Payment-currency changed after the fact from CAD to USD
As Canadians, booking a Canadian house on a Canadian site,- we were more than surprised to find out - after having paid a deposit (in order to have a chance to communicate directly with the owner), that suddenly the listed prices were supposed to be in USD. In fact, we now know that over 25 independent people saw the same listing in Canadian dollars. Home Away confirmed this to us directly but also added that the home owner was allowed to adjust the price. Weeks after having booked and made irreversible arrangements, it became clear that the rental was consequently going to be over $200 more than anticipated. It was too late to find a suitable alternative so with reference to the owner's flexibility in allowing us to have friends park their RV in the ample parking area for two nights - we opted to proceed.
2. Surveilance-cameras not mentioned in listing
The welcome letter we received three days prior to the rental start did list three "wild life cameras" on the property. However, we have since learnt that it is the law that such (potential invasions of tenant's privacy) must be disclosed in the listing .......... for obvious reasons. We were certainly surprised and also felt uncomfortable having the hosts roam around below the rental house balcony at night and flying a camera-drone around the place.
All in all we do understand our hosts motivation to protect their great rental place, but things like informing a renter that by the way you won't be alone on the property as we (the owners) live in the boat house - really should be in the listing rather than an after thought in a welcome letter three days prior to move-in.
Having said that, we had a good experience with our friends and were happy that RV parking went smoothly in spite of late concerns expressed by our hosts.
To end on an even more positive note - while we did leave the place spotless, we managed to accidentally break two plates, for which the damage deposit was not charged.

In regards to the wildlife cameras, the locations are pointed out in the site tour at the pond, boathouse and driveway. These cameras allow us to monitor the movements of river otters, raccoons, deer, bears, coyotes, and bobcat. We have been fortunate to catch the rare sighting of a Pacific Marten which was reported to BC Fish and Wildlife. (A note has been added to the listing overview)
In the overview it is stated in the original listing that the owner occupies the boathouse. Being on property allows me to manage all concerns, keep up with daily flower watering, cleaning, and one acre of gardening. And lets face it, I like the view too!
We apologize if you felt your privacy invaded with the drone. It was a recently acquired birthday present that we were learning to fly from the boathouse.
I am happy that we were able to accommodate a 20 person reunion with friends from Europe. We learned a lot about how many people can be accommodated comfortably including the demands on the septic system. Parking a RV from the Sunshine Coast Highway is a challenge from a safety and driveway size point of view. We will continue to not allow this service.
My stay on the Sunshine Coast was amazing! It was a great place to relax and enjoy the amazing view. The house had everything needed and was very cozy. The owner is close by and very responsive if you need anything. I only wish I had stayed longer. I will surely return. Cannot say enough about the view.

Beautiful clean home, with stunning views of ocean and surrounding islands and shoreline. Owner Stacy readily available if questions during stay. Highly recommend. Very large patio, and beautiful backyard with greenery and pond. Large private beach, a bit rocky but calm and swimmable for sure. Highly recommend
