Nice and quiet cottage at the lake
Perfect cottage for an escape to the Muskokas!
Perfect cottage for a weekend getaway! The view from the elevated patio over the lake is gorgeous, whether you're enjoying the quiet sunrise, the picturesque sunset, or just stargazing. Plenty of watercraft to cruise the lake on, and tons of entertainment inside as well in case the weather doesn't cooperate. Just a three minute drive to town for groceries and a well-stocked LCBO... what could be better? Would recommend again and again for a memorable Muskoka retreat!
Three day Fall weekend
Very clean, beautiful location, private but not isolated. Great place indoors and outdoors. Natasha and Barb made sure we were well taken care of. Would definitely stay again!
The house itself is great. Lots of space for our group of 5.
Privacy is okay from the house, but once you're near the water, there isn't much of it. Your neighbours on either side of you can see and hear you. The first night we were there, the neighbours had a loud party until 2AM.
The water is very shallow which was great for our young kids, but the water itself is VERY VERY weedy/mucky. It felt disgusting to walk through, so the kids were the only ones who ended up in the water (they didn't care about the muck and weeds). Even the deep water was weedy and unpleasant.
We didn't care for the location much, as the only grocery store was a tiny little Foodland, and there weren't a lot of food options that worked for us. Thankfully we brought a lot of food from home and did a lot of cooking at the house, so we didn't have to go out much. There's not really a whole lot to do in the area.
Be prepared to take all of your trash home with you or you'll be charged a hefty fee. (I've never once, in my many years of renting cottages, had anyone tell me to take every bit of trash home with me.) No, you can't leave it in the garbage bins outside. You can't leave your recycling either.
Also, be prepared to bring your own toilet paper. We didn't know about this until a few days before check-in. My mind is still blown by the fact that after spending over so much on a week at this cottage, that they would still require us to bring our own TOILET PAPER. Wow.
All in all - this place is great if you plan on staying put at the cottage, and don't mind driving home with smelly garbage in your car once your time is up.. :)
We loved the the beach. A huge asset. The cottage itself was delightful and very well equipped .
It was perfect for 3 generations. The children said it was the best we had ever stayed in - what better praise!
Thank you ,Barb , for your help and kindness.
It is very easy to have a relaxing, recuperative vacation at this well equipped place. All the conveniences - dishwasher, washer and dryer, air conditioning, cable tv, internet - are found in an light, bright cottage. The sandy beach and shallow water are great for kids and the watercraft enable everyone to cruise on the lake. Highly recommended
