Charming vacation home in authentic Greek village

Back from a week on Naxos in this charming little house, we wish we were sitting in the beautiful atrium right now. It really is the most relaxing place and even though it was early in the year, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner out there most of the days.
Mili is a great location for a vacation off the beaten track, right in the middle of the green hills of Naxos, with good hiking and ancient history closeby. The Kouros of Melanes can be reached within 1/2 hour from a trail to the left of the house. We were glad we had also rented a car to explore the island and drive to the nearby beaches (about 20 min. away), because for two days of this first week of April, it was actually warm enough to go for a swim - before any of the beach bars had even opened for the season!
The owner, Peter, gave us detailed information on his little "summer pearl", including the secret to getting fresh bread delivered in the mornings at the local bus stop. We would recommend his house to anybody who is looking for a more quiet, nature-oriented alternative to the classic Greek island hopping vacation. We had a wonderful time!

The house was just perfect and the views were astonishingly beautiful and we had a wonderful and relaxing stay.
We were able to relax and unwind and we found our surroundings
very inspirational. It really got the creative juices flowing!

A fantastic location up in the mountains..a wisper across the valley..but close enough to some excellent beaches, hilltop towns, a good selection of local restaurants..and even to drop into the Hora for an evening beer

Very quiet home in a nice walking area

I recommand this house to any people that want quiet holidays, everything is made to relax and enjoy the view on the mountains. The very Nice beach of Prokopios is only 15 minutes drive and chora only 10 minutes.
The house is a typical greek house . We where there in august 2011 with our 3 childrens and they enjoy to Play in the village.
I am sur we Will be back in mili one day

The house in Mili is a wonderful step back in time. It is a traditional mountain house perched on the side of a mountain over looking a valley. It was everything we expected; basic but wanting for nothing. We felt immediately at home when we arrived. The village cats welcomed us as did several of the neighbours. Renting a car is a good idea as Mili is somewhat isolated and it makes touring the island easier. Many of the restaurants and tavernas were closed while we were there becasue it was the low season but we were still able to find some nice places. Most people speak some English and if you make the effort to speak a little Greek they will be very accommodating. We had a wonderful time exploring the island and discoving 5000 years of history!

Relaxing holiday

If you want a relaxing holiday and wants to experience ‘the real Greece’ this is the place to go! I’ve rented this house several times and it’s such a lovely place, simple but with everything you need. It’s situated in a very small village. You park your car above the village and walk down to it. No cars = very quiet. If you want to go hiking you just have to step outside the house and start walking. If you want to go to Naxos town or any of the beaches it’s just 15 minutes away by car. You are close to all the tourist places, but it feels like you’re far, far away.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday.

If your dream is to have a totally relaxing and peaceful holiday in a traditional Greek house in a mountain village on an idyllc island, you could do no better than this house in Mili, on Naxos, in the Cyclades. It is all delightful - glorious views, impressive island landscapes, beautiful beaches, warm inviting seas, historic monuments, excellent walks, welcoming tavernas, kind and generous islanders - Mili and Naxos has them all.

Mili, Naxos is a true picturesque experience. It is a small, but very functional house in a lovely mountain village. You will be amazed by the sound of the sound of the fresh water running thru the aqueducts just below the house. The place gives you time to slow down and relax in an enviroment very genuine and Greek.
I would not recommend the house for party goers or for people who feels it's a tough job to go a little bit away from the town and beach life. However you'll reach the beach in 15 minutes on a bike or in a car.
