Everything regarding the apartment was fabulous - from the first email contact with the owners to the handing over of the keys. Everything was clean and bright, friendly and accessible. The Wi-fi was a great addition for a few hours at the office, and the laundry facilities were a blessing as we had 2 small children in our party. Restaurants, groceries, buses and taxis were all within easy walking distance (5-10mins with some hills), and Funchal centre was also within walking distance (more like 20-25mins there and 30mins back).
I would strongly recommend this property to anyone able, and willing, to enjoy a bit of walking, and would gladly stay there again.

We stayed at this lovely apartment in August 2010 for a week.
For our family of four including two children under 6 it was just what we were looking for. Spacious, well maintained, clean, secure and quiet.

The children made great use of the pool and their swimming improved no end.

Parking bays in a secure underground garage meant we had a cool car to get into on those hot afternoons and a gated complex meant we didnt have to worry about the kids running around and getting near any roads.

You dont need a car however as this apartment is right in the centre of Funchal and is within easy walking distance of everything.

Huge amounts of cupboard and wardrobe space in the bedrooms meant we werent tripping over empty suyitcases or buggies.

Everything was stored away which was the first time in a while we have managed to find enough draw and hanging space without using the suitcases for overflow as you have to in some apartments these days.

The kitchen was nice and large with everything you need on an everyday basis. A large fridge/freezer meant we could buy in bulk and not have to do lots of small runs to the supermarket.

So, many thanks to David and Manuela for providing us with a fantastic apartment, helping us to have a great time in Funchal.

We will definitely be coming back next year for another week or maybe two.

Just returned from this apartment and I must say we could not fault the apartment at all, large en-suite bedrooms we called them east and west wings.. Weather was fantastic site seeing fabulous even ventured on cable cars and taboggans it was great.
Taxi drivers are very friendly had a couple of tours with them as for four of us was cheaper than the tour bus. Just as people say the hill to walk back up to the apartment is heavy going on a full stomach but we managed it so am sure others can. L'osteria restaurant down the hill was our favourite restaurant special tourist menus 13.5 euros lots of extras too they served local flat bread with home made seafood pate and butter infused with basil even served a free drink in between the courses.
On our last day we found a great little restaurant in Funchal situated on the street behind the gardens opposit the Grand Cafe the street was called Rua Da Carreira restaurant was called Estraca (or something like that) Londres restaraunt was on the right and this was further up on the left. Well worth a visit 5 menus 3 courses and including coffee 8euros or 9.50 can you believe that give it a try we wish we had found it earlier.

Four of us stayed in this apartment in June 2010. The apartment was very spacious, spotlessly clean and very well maintained. It had everything we needed for our holiday including a fully equipped kitchen, large lounge area with sofas, dining table and chairs. We found that we spent the time when we were in the apartment on the large balcony which was great to sit out on and enjoy the peace and quiet and the views. Great for enjoying breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening. Two of the bedrooms were large and en suite, the third room was smaller but still pleasant and comfortable.
The property was very well maintained with lovely wooden floors and tiled kitchen and bathrooms.
The pool is good and there are sunbeds to use and generally it was quiet and relaxing. The gardens surrounding the apartments are well maintained and the apartment complex is very secure, gated and quiet.
The apartment is at the top of a steep hill which is alright to walk down but after climbing it a few times we found it easier to use the local taxis to get back up the hill, which we did not find a problem.
There are many restaurants, cafes and shops down the hill from the apartment and a local bar which is very welcoming. We particularly liked the L'Osteria and the La Bamba restaurants but in fact we did not have a bad meal during our stay.
Once you are down the hill I would say that you centrally located to enjoy all the attractions of Madeira and we all had a fantastic holiday. The weather was perfect, the food good and the people very friendly and welcoming.
The owner Manuela arranged for a taxi to collect us at the airport and she met us at the apartment with the keys. Throughout our stay she was available by phone and was very helpful and friendly. I feel Manuela and David were very helpful when I was booking the apartment and answered any questions I had promptly.
I would recommend this property and hope to return again to this lovely island.

Stayed at the accommodation from 6/4/09 to the 20/4/09, Manuela and David were very welcoming. As the previous review states the internal pictures do not do this justice. It was large and clean and was exactly what we were looking for. Having been to Madeira many times we knew the location which was ideal for us especially as we had hired a car, parking it in the underground car park was a bonus. The pool was good and my 13 yr old daughter was in it almost every day. Would recommend this anyone, will definately use the apartment again if we return.

We spent a week here at the beginning of february. The photo's on the web site do not do the apartment justice, for it is far more spacious and comfortable than it appears.
The terrace was lovely, everything was spotlessly clean and Manuela and David could not have been more helpful.
The apartment is situated on a hill (which most of Madeira is) so there are lovely views overlooking the sea, though strong uphill walking legs are needed!
Plenty of restaurants nearby, and buses and taxi's if you dont have a car.
Just right for a relaxing break.
We could not fault the apartment or the holiday. We really should be keeping this a secret.

This property was great to relax in with wonderful sea views.We had a lovely time at this home from home.
We have visited the island on many occations and this property did not disappoint us. We will certainly use this property again

We had a very pleasant stay here in December, around new year.
The apartment is modern, has nice wooden floors, spacious bedrooms and a comfortable balcony that fits an outside table.
There is private parking in the underfloor garage with two guaranteed parking spots.

Walking into town is relatively easy (about 20 minutes to the pier) - walking back is tougher, uphill, so we tended to take a taxi or bus back.

All in all, recommendable - we'd stay here again !
