Great relaxing place to have a wonderful holiday

We had a wonderful 2 weeks break at Anand villa.
The booking was a doodle and Allison could not have been more helpful.
On our arrival, we found place exactly how we imagined it. House keeper Sangita was the real jewel. She came up with wonderful gastronomic delights for meals, while keeping the place clean.
Jon is a celebrity in the area and is well liked by every one. He was on hand to offer us his advise on local food joints, which we really enjoyed. Jon is a great musician too and we loved the evenings we spent listening to live music at Lockie Cafe in Arambol, a few kilometre up the road.
There is an army of 4 dogs keeping the place secured. Very well behaved and well trained.
Would definitely return again and again to relax and enjoy !

Paradise in the sun

A tropical time in the sun at Anand Villa. I had use of a pool which was very refeshing. Lovely food was cooked by Sangita the housekeeper. My room had an en-suite with water heated by the sun and the fresh well water was delicious. Very Eco friendly. The village and beach were close by and within easy walking distance. The village provided many choices of food at all times of the day. The pictures show a true reprosentation of the villa and I recommend at least 2 weeks to get away from the cold winter in UK. This was a great winter pick me up for me. Saving up to visit again.

Thank you Alison and Jon. You are always so welcoming. This was our third visit and we are already counting the days until next time.
Anand Villa was pristine and glowing as always. Sangita truely is a treasure, her meals positively sublime!
Lots of great restaurants nearby overlooking the fabulous beach, perfect for a sundowner, that is if you can actually extract yourself from the poolside and Sangita's home cooking.
We carry with us perfect memories of relaxing on the sunbeds devouring a papaya fresh from your garden.
All in all a great place which we have no hesitation in recommending, in fact we have friends coming to join us next season.

My holiday at Anand Villa Mandrem Goa was absolutly georgous. I came with my pregnant daughter her partner and their small child, my granddaughter (18 months old). It was a wonderful safe relaxing place to stay .It really is set in a tropical paradise. The villa is beautiful cool light and airy. it was a pleasure to arrive here after our long journey,our hosts were welcoming warm friendly and helpful. Sangita, the lovely housekeeper cleans every day and really looked after us. the pool is large clean and beautiful great for cooling off day or night with a childrens pool which my granddaughter loved and had great fun in. the villa is in a quiet location 10mins walk from mandrem beach . It has been a real joy to stay here with my family. I would highly recommend it.

Homely relaxing space in a stunning setting.

We had a very pleasant stay in Anand Villa, Mandrem.
The owners and staff of the villa were charming, generous and welcoming.
We were looking for a relaxing location, with enough going on to entertain our excitable toddler. With the beautiful beach and assorted eateries just down the road, and the lovely private pool just a few steps from the bedroom, we were delighted with this spot.
We found the property to be clean, spacious and airy, and the delightful maid worked each morning - discreetly and gracefully - to maintain the high standard of cleanliness.
I would happily recommend Anand Villa as a place to stay, particularly for families with young children. The combination of fresh tropical fruit from the local village (5 mins walk), the gorgeous beach and restaurants (10 mins walk) and the private pool (no walk required!), means this is an ideally situated and comfortable base, even for those without their own transport.
If transport is required, the owners can provide the details of a good, reliable, taxi driver who provides a great service to get out and about to the local sights, markets and further afield beaches, villages etc. The trip (via small car ferry) into neighbouring Maharastra state, to visit the ancient fort and paradise beach is highly recommended!

What a gorgeous villa! I stayed for three weeks with my husband and our 3 month old baby.
It was my first trip to Asia and my first trip travelling with our tiny daughter. Any anxieties I had about flying somewhere so far from home (UK) were quickly dispelled when we arrived at Anand Villa and were welcomed by the wonderfully friendly owners and the housekeeper. We were shown to our spacious and clean, beautifully decorated, air-conditioned room that opened out onto a patio which led to the pool area. From what I am told by other friends that have travelled around India, we were incredibly lucky to have a pool. It was clean and our daughter loved her first swimming experiences.
Throughout our stay Sangita, the housekeeper, made amazing home-cooked meals. She would even take baby Ellie off for a wander so I could eat them in peace. One day she walked in with two beautiful dresses she had sown for Ellie - we were so touched.
The owners were bend-over-backwards helpful. They recommended fabulous restaurants, bars and live music, pointed us in the direction of the best markets and helped us arrange vehicle rental.
I am desperate to go back again this year. I can't recommend this beautiful property enough.

I feel we were totally misled by this property and its owners. I've only given it one start because this site doesn't give you the option giving no stars.
We had a terrible experience, so much so that we had to leave, losing all our money as the owner insisted we pay the full amount upfront.
The place was filthy, unsafe and the pool was unusable.
When we tried to appeal to the owner, showing photos of what we found as proof, he refused to accept our concerns and became insulting and threatening.
We were a party of two families, both with young children with the expectation of a relaxing family holiday. Given the description on this website, we were hoping for a clean, comfortable and empty villa with a nice private pool. And perhaps a bit of luxury given that this is how it is classified on this website.

I also tried to contact the owners of this website to express my concern about misleading customers but I never had any response.

Negative comments started from the second the group alighted from the taxi, before they had even reached the house. On entering the house they were instantly arrogantly rude to myself, and our staff, who had come to greet them and help with their luggage. They asked questions but seemed unwilling to accept the answers given. For example, they repeatedly asked if the staff lived in the house. They were told that the staff have their own house in the village. This question was repeated more than once. They sat down and consumed the fresh fruit, and sandwiches, and drank the fruit juice and beer that they had asked us to get. They then went around the property, taking photographs. They made it very clear that they were taking pictures that might show the property in an unfavourable light. They were extrememly rude to me, to which I did not react, they then said that the property did not match their expectations, and demanded a full refund whilst waving their cameras with a clearly implied threat.
Their 'terrible' experience lasted for less than 2 hours at the property.
When this group were booking we were aware of some dissention within the group over differring accomodation requirements. When they arrived it became obvious that a leading member of the group wanted a fully staffed residence with, for example, a bathtub for every bedroom. [In India bathtubs are quite unusual and only to be found in the very best accomodation. It is a definate luxury that we managed to fit one for our Master Bedroom. We were unable to purchase even one in the whole of Goa]. He complained bitterly about the lack of baths despite the fact the our advertised details clearly state the facilities available.
They have posted a fake page on facebook pretending to be Anand Villa, Mandrem, showing unrepresentative photos. Pictures of door mats are rarely attractive, we hope that people realise that they are sitting on a shining white floor. There are three plastic chairs that belong to our dogs, they like to sleep off the floor, and we consider them to be worthy of good treatment; they are located in a quiet corner. Our guests have rather better chairs!
We are confident that the weight of positive comments from many guests, and our own photos tell a more accurate and honest story than this review.

We spent two weeks at the Anand Villa with a group of friends the location was perfect. The area is beautiful and the beaches are very quiet. The local people are so friendly always saying good morning as we walked down to the beach. The owners left a list of places to eat and visit and we tried most of them I just wish we could have been there longer to try them all. The villa is very light and spacious and the Jewel is a delight. Sanjita is a wonderful cook and we enjoyed meeting her and her family. The markets are so colourful and not too far away. We used taxis to most places the drivers were very helpful and would wait for no extra cost to bring you home even when it was two or three hours. The pool is a brilliant extra and even though the beach is only a short walk, a swim in the pool before one of Sanjitas lovely breakfasts is hard to beat.

Pure perfect peace!

We spent 2 weeks with our teenage sons in this charming villa and we all loved it. The villa and pool were lovely and we spent many a happy hour or two soaking up the divine atmosphere. It is a pleasant walk to villages and the beaches, where we soon made friends with the locals who were so nice to us. We became extremely relaxed and 'at peace' leaving our normal hectic lives behind. I thoroughy recommend spending a holiday here and can't wait until we can return.
