La Jarilla is one of the greatest places we´ve been to. Surrounded by unspoiled nature, great wine and a fabulous host. Everything about this place is wonderful. The houses so clean, the food unbelivable and the warm welcome is what makes this place unforgettable. We whould, with out a doubt reccomend it to anyone how is looking for a great getaway or just a relaxing time.

exactly what i needed at that time, after many hectic weeks: no stress, no noise, no tv (though there is tv), no time schedule - just silence!
if you are everything else but a standard tourist you will definitely like this hideaway with a "connection to the world".
a one of a kind host with a one of a kind wine selection and lots of life experience. you better inform yourself about scottish history and their great achievements, though!

I stayed at La jarilla on the couse run by Dornoch, Scotland. The facilities were excellent with amazing views over the unspoiled country side. The tranquility and isolation were the main attraction for me but there is plenty of scope to get to golf courses , skiiing, beaches and sightseeing if you want it. The houses are decorated in a relaxed country style with lovely homely touches like fresh floweres, beautiful crockery , comfy beds and crisp white linen. Each house is different and has its own private terrace . The pool is of generous proportions and I enjoyed an early morning swim every day. Simon is a very knowledgable and entertaining host who taught us lots about grape growing, fig picking and wine making. The almond trees, figs and vegetable garden add to the working country house appeal. I would love to go back in the spring and see the almond blossom. Thankyou Simon and Stephanie for being such great hosts and making our stay so relaxed and enjoyable .

I recently spent a week in La Larilla with a group pf teachers from around Europe on a personal development course. It has been one of the most memorable weeks of my life. The location, facilities, food (amazing), accommodation were to a very high standard. La Jarilla was the perfect setting for our course and enhanced the learning reflection of our. Because of the relaxed atmosphere it allowed me (as a reflective practitioner) to get the most from all the activities and also gave me the chance to relax with my new friends and freshly brewed wine from the vineyard.

This was my first time on a course of this description and would do it all again in a second and as a group we are now planning a reunion somewhere down the line back at La Jarilla. I would definitely recommend La Jarilla for a break away or as a place to host a course like ours.

We ran a course for EU teachers at La Jarilla, using all three houses. What a fantastic venue/location! All three houses are equipped to the highest standard, down to crockery and cutlery.They are beautifully appointed with their own private terraces, set in wonderful grounds and perfect place to relax, reflect and recharge.
We could not recommend La Jarilla, Siomon, the owner more highly. We'll be back with many more courses and I'm sure our participants from this course will revisit ' in holiday mode' such was their experience, in this amazing place!

Atractiva finca de labor , con almendros, vino propio, olivos y higueras y con unas vistas y paseos incomparables , tranquilidad asegurada .
El trato es esmerado con el respeto y la simpatia que aporta su dueño Simon, de origén escocés .
Los espacios estan bien resueltos, la edificacion con materiales recuperados antiguos, maderas trabajadas por artesanos y utilizados con armonia y buen gusto, aportan un cierto sabor andaluz a unas casas familiares con todo tipo de detalles originales y de procedencia inglesa, que las convierten en unas vivendas confortables e únicas .
Los espacios y terrazas se pueden independizar para sentirse en la intimidad y que permite concentracion y silencio
La piscina esta alejada de la casa y con vistas, aporta un lugar mas donde poder disfrutar de la tranquilidad , y además una pista de tenis reglamentaria que permite echar un partido como un profesional.
En definitiva si lo que se busca es tranquilidad y desconectar del mundanal ruido es el lugar perfecto entre el cielo y la tierra
. Nos ha gustado mucho y queremos repetir en otoño con las chimeneas de leña funcionando ...

La Jarilla is a place where you can cast away the rest of the world.

Although it has full internet connection etc you can put your blackberry away and melt into the life on this spectacular farm. There is so much to do if you're feeling adventurous and there is so much to do if you're feeling mellow.

The hill walking is Impressive. The views recede down and away from the house where you can catch a glimpse of the sea -even though the property is up at 900 metres- as well as the rolling hills laden with beautiful olive, almond, fig and eucalyptus trees. The vines surrounding the property are harvested and pressed into the most delicious wine. As a Spanish speaker, I was able to learn from the locals in Alfornon -the nearest town- that the rich and fertile land at La Jarilla has been known to produce the best wine and olive oil for years.

My friends played tennis in the late afternoon (as I looked on), usually after a shimmering, still and peaceful day by the pool. I was under doctors orders to keep still during my first trimester of pregnancy so La Jarilla was ideal for me, as well as for the others. It lends itself to everyone. I felt rested and happy listening to the crickets at night and generally floated about rather dreading my inevitable departure! We would have paid twice the amount to be there.

I can't wait to return.

A wonderfully remote location tucked away on the hillside, this charming Spanish villa provides much entertainment for all ages. Swimming, tennis, bowls, sunbathing, mountain walks, trips to the beach, there is always something to do. The three houses each have their own unique feel and are beautifully decorated, clean, well equipped, and each house has its own terrace providing a lovely location for relaxation and admiring the views. One really feels that they are sitting at the heart of Spain here, surrounded by olive trees and vines, of which it is possible to sample some of La Jarilla’s very own wine, far from the touristy madness that can often spoil a holiday. The friendly locals make trips to the nearby villages a fun experience, especially during the summer when they have their village “Fiestas.” A fantastic and unique holiday experience not to be missed.
