The house description is accurate, however many rooms of the home are "very worn and need work. There is a moldy musty smell, and I believe it happens because the house is opened seasonally and not yearly. The carpets all need to be ripped up and there is lots of staining/damage around the inside and outside of the house. This house is located 5 minutes walking distance from the steamship, but it needs updating and the price should reflect that. "

Fabulous location but worn out home

Location, location, location. It was ideal and convenient and fun. The owner also provides good and easy communication. The house description is accurate, however many aspects of the home are very worn and need work. The carpets all need to be ripped up and there is lots of staining/damage around the inside and outside of the house. The mattresses are like rocks. This is a great house but it needs updating and the price should reflect that.

Réponse du propriétaire: As part owner of this perfectly located Vineyard home..i would like to comment on a few aspects of the sept review ..unfortionately the renter's week in august was the only week of the summer where it was rainy/cloudy and non summer like.we have not received any "complaints" regarding our home..most everyone has enjoyed our home.its superb water views..its updates..its contemporized bright interior..pleasant refreshed decor..remodeled kitchen thats very .functional and ready for convenient cooking,.updated bathrooms..clean interior(we are in constant communication w/ our cleaning service..follow up and review of weekly condition).our carpeting is cleaned every year professionally and i spoke with the carpet company this week and he insisted our home gets "normal" summer use, walkways, as in most homes get soiled as august rolls in due to humidity and rain..its unavoidable..spot cleaning can be done if needed but our carpeting is in good condition..it is a berber style rug and we use tasteful runners and scatter rugs cleaned and washed regularly so as to maintain the best possible condition during the rental season..our mattresses are all new or newer and firm for overall appeal by renters..in june 2010 i replaced the MBR bed with a Sealy Posturepedic set.and last june another full mattress and twin bed..all beds are clean and comfortable for most people and we took advise from the island mattress company regarding best option for durability and comfort for our renters.everyone certainly has specific needs for "ideal" comfort but in a rental home ours is very competitive w/ other quality rentals...some comments are "surprising" our home on june 21 was in very clean condition and ready for the season..renters have told us our home is "beautiful" and very nice..we are continually working on improving our home....we will continue to maintain the quality of our home and feel it is very price competitive for its location..convenience and amenities offered...our standards are very high and i am on top of being aware and following through with any issues or concerns..The feedback received over the years has been extremely "positive'..unfortionately sometimes with any rental or business.it may not be the "perfect" match for everyone(individual standards vary and "expectations can vary"..we will strive to keep our home in the best condition possible We have rented our home for many years with very positive reviews..We look forward to next season !

Had a fantastic week on MV. The description of the property was completely accurate and we had absolutely no complaints.
This property couldn't have been better located. 1 minute walk and you are on the center of bustling circuit ave, with loads of great restaurants to pick from. The parking is a bit of a pain, only in that the convenient spaces across from the house are not long term during the day, so you have to move you're car every once in a while. The parking cops only came by once all week though, so not a big deal.
Given the ideal location, you would think it might lack privacy, but most of the people traffic stays on circuit ave, which is 2 streets back behind the house, so no impact at all. Cars have no reason to drive in front of the house, other than to park, so stay on the main street running along the beach. The house faces the street, across a park, which provides enough of a buffer for the traffic not to bother you.
Sitting on the porch evening and morning was a favourite activity for everyone (along with excessive eating, drinking, beaching and fishing!)
