What a lovely cosy cottage and such fantastic views. It was perfect for an “away from it all” winter break. Just adored the log fire and cooked some delicious meals on the Everhot. Would just love to have one....... Definitely will not hesitate to recommend Pwll Melyn but on second thoughts don't want too many people to discover this gem. Cant wait to go back.”

Hi Julie,

We had a fabulous time . As one of your previous guests said, the photos don't do the cottage justice! We really loved the place.

Things we liked:
The range, I cooked some lovely winter warmer suppers
The location, despite being very familiar with the Llyn, it was super to be so close to Hell's mouth, and within running distance of porth oer ( for Katherine, not me!).
The enclosed outdoor spaces, all the kids really enjoyed this. A lovely balance of seclusion and safety.
The furnishings and bedding at Pwll Melyn were lovely, really comfortable and homely. (I rarely say that about cottage bedding, so it's high praise!)
Plenty of storage in the bedrooms, was nice. Often not the case!
The feel/atmosphere is tranquil and homely, kids relaxed instantly, your folder is also comprehensive and well written.

Things to think about changing:
Fire grate ( and i suspect the airwash plate) are not correct orientation or size- also replaced glass fits imperfectly, making stove much less efficient than it should be and difficult to clean. i have the same Esse stove but smaller (4.9kW) and it kicks out loads more heat.
Shower tray has a small leak (underneath tray or between glass/tray)
Table is a little wobbly
A couple of baking trays would be handy.
One of the beds in the twin room (near door) is v creaky, didn't trust it to sit on, could probably do with tightening up.
Some well fitted blinds or heavier curtains (maybe for some of doors) would increase the coziness factor.

None of he above detracted from what was an excellent week away, just suggestions. We'd happily stay again and, I hope, will!

We had a fabulous time on our holiday. The cottage is lovely and we were very comfortable while enjoying our stay in the beautiful peninsula.

The cottage was in superb condition, clean and very inviting. It is even better than the pictures which do not do it justice. I especially liked that it had been thoughtfully decorated and felt like home from home (we have rented several times before and can tell the difference when something is or has been 'owner occupied'). There was an abundance of books and games to while away the rainier days and the loft bedroom acted as a cosy kind of playroom above hte kitchen for out little boy. Having said that, when the mist lifted the views out the third bedroom were stunning and we did not stay indoors for long.

Having privacy is essential to our preferred style of self-catering breaks and the little garden and driveway access suited us perfectly while still not feeling alone in the wild, as it were.

The surrounding area is very picturesque. There are loads of gorgeous beaches, chocolate-boxey villages in the seafront and plenty to do in the area in the way of coastal walks. We also went to a market and visited an art gallery amongst other things as well as (one of many) ancient castles. There is a lot of helpful information in the cottage to get you started, and the wifi available is good for checking out places on the web beforehand.

We will definitely be recommending it to family and friends as well as keeping it in mind for future breaks ourselves! Julie was extremely pleasant to deal with from the start and Nia was able to answer all our questions on arrival. Thanks very much to both for making us feel so welcome.

Dear Julie,
We had a brilliant time and the cottage does you proud.I don't know how many families stay at the cottage but maybe a few children's books in the bookshelf or games for the younger ones. The other thing would maybe be blackout blinds/curtains as the light comes in very early and wakes up little people at 5.30am but not a major issue, I managed to block up the windows in the main bedroom with cushions and so the baby slept very well. At home we have feather down pillows and duvets and said that especially in winter these would compliment cosy cottage feel well.Love the kitchen especially the stove seemed to always boil the kettle their instead of the electric one, the dishwasher is a bit temperamental as previous guests have commented on.

As i said these were on minor issues/ things we said we would do and did not detract from an excellent holiday in a beautiful part of the world, we will be looking to rebook next year and again the whole Smith clan say thank you.“

I just wanted to let you know that we had a lovely week at the cottage. As seasoned cottage renters I am pleased to say that Pwll Melyn is up there with the best! We were very comfortable and at home and lacked nothing. The weather was mixed but did not stop us doing anything. We did not go too far afield (we didn't need to!) enjoying the walking and
the unspoilt beaches. I loved the Everhot! Hope to meet up with you sometime and perhaps plan another visit 'sans' children!!
